Essential Responsibilities
Design standard jobs with guidance to match client specifications and requirements
Draft electrical construction drawings using AutoCAD in conjunction with our wiring teams
Gain design knowledge to engineer various control and relay panels
Work with your Supervisor and the Project Management team to help interpret project write-ups, client specifications, drawings, and other correspondence during the life of the project
Create and validate Bills of Materials for client submittal and approval per Powell Standards
Complete self-design reviews to verify accuracy and completeness of designs before issuing projects to Powell's manufacturing floor for construction
Gain the ability to provide technical support in client meetings
Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to specify & approve component parts and assemblies
Provide prompt notification to supervisor and project management for issues that impact scope, budget, and schedule
Coordinate with the electrical design team for the final design and construction package to include schematics and wiring diagrams of the project
Create AC and DC schematics, door component layouts, wiring diagrams, and communication drawings for project approval, construction and As-Built's drawing submittals
Provide technical support as necessary for sales, application engineering, and inspection teams throughout the life of the project
Assist fellow production engineers in solving problems on a daily basis
Adhere to Powell's policies and procedures, work instructions, ISO policies, Safety Rules and Regulations
Meet regularly with clients, suppliers and OEMs

The Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 0-3 years of relevant job related experience
The Senior Engineer level requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 4-8 years of relevant job related experience
The Lead Engineer level requires Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 7-10 years of relevant job related experience
Minimum Qualifications
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or related area
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in an Engineering role
Ability to draft in AutoCAD
Proficient with electrical design in PLC, SCADA, and relay control panels
Basic understanding of power system, SCADA system, communications, and relay applications as applied to products

Your Day-day Will Include
Provides technical and design services in support of land (site) development projects.
Reports directly to Project Manager and Operations Manager.
Conduct preliminary/due diligence evaluations, prepare various reports, produce design and construction drawings, prepare technical specifications, and prepare permit submittals for civil engineering projects.
Work as part of a project team, manage project tasks and provide direction to team members.
Take part in various tasks on several concurrent projects and must be able to follow these tasks through to completion within the allocated period of time and the monetary budget assigned.
What You Need
Bachelor's of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering
TX PE or ability to acquire TX PE quickly through reciprocity.
AutoCAD 2016-2022 Civil 3D
Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software including Hydraflow and StormCAD (or similar product) required.
Experience in land development projects, specifically site layout, grading, erosion control, water and sewer utilities and stormwater management.

Job Summary: The Transmission Engineer II will oversee civil, structural, and electrical design evaluations, analysis, and modifications for high-voltage overhead and underground transmission interconnect facilities at solar and BESS energy facility connections. Key Responsibilities:
Lead efforts in organizing, reviewing, interpreting, and executing design and project coordination tasks, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
Responsible for evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment to adapt and modify designs, and providing interpretations and conclusions.
Review or develop the design philosophy and associated calculations for transmission design projects.
Have a strong understanding of electrical power and distribution systems (low, medium, and high voltage), including grounding systems and engineering calculations (voltage drop, fault current, load calculations, etc.), ensuring compliance with relevant codes (e.g., NEC, ANSI/IEEE).
Contribute to design development, optimization, and field construction methods.

Education, Experience & Software
Bachelors Degree in Engineering required. Can accept a Minor in Electrical Engineering with a completed Bachelors Degree.
In pursuit of EIT, FE, or PE certification (Training/Test Reimbursement offered)
Commercial Electrical Experience: 5 year (Preferred)
Construction Experience: 2 year (Preferred)
Experience using Software like Auto Cad & Revit
Knowledge of NEC
Skills and Expertise:
Demonstrate communication, organization and customer relation skills.
Previous field electrical experience is a plus but not required.
Knowledge of electrical systems for commercial, industrial, or other low & medium voltage systems
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code & how to navigate.
Knowledgeable of Revit, AutoCAD and other design software is beneficial.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Job Type: Full-time 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8 hour daily shifts

Main work location will be at the office and may include the following:
Repetitive motion consistent with computer work
Sitting for extended periods of time
Occasional site visits & meetings
