Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a **Principal or Senior Principal Network and Communications Field Service Engineer** to our team at **RAAF Base Edinburgh** near **Adelaide, Australia** .
This position will receive daily tasking and prioritization from their site lead. The selected candidate will be responsible for operations and maintenance support of the MQ-4C Triton network and communications systems at a Forward Operating Base (FOB).
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Provide real time support for flight operations and maintenance, addressing any issues related to communications and networking to include fault isolation, remediation, and resolution.
+ Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications and data link systems in military flight test environment, including operations on a flightline, in a hangar, and in command-and-control centers.
+ Adherence to checklists and procedures to ensure repeated success and providing redlines to procedures when necessary.
+ Communicate complex technical issues to local support, the Degrader Action Cell (DAC), Main Operation Bases (MOBs), and Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Support and lead air crew engagement for proper techniques in solving complex analysis of technical problems that arise during operations.
+ Assist with trend analysis as needed for Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Perform/support review and analysis of supplier design data and definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration.
+ Take responsibility for the testing, maintenance, and integration of Comms and Networks equipment to include radio terminals, software loads, switches, routers, and firewalls required to support ground and flight test operations.
+ Work with system admins, maintainers, and onsite personnel to troubleshoot and repair any internal operational issues.
** The selected candidate will be put on a temporary Domestic Assignment and will report to our San Diego, CA site daily prior to international deployment while clearance(s), Visa(s), and other documents are processing. The employee will go through training in San Diego during this period. **
**The expected timeline before deployment is 3-4 months but this will vary.**
Initially, this position will work a 9/80 shift. **As the program matures, the shifts may become 12-hour shifts that could include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.**
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site in Australia. This position requires the ability to **travel up to 50%** of the time once in final location.

**Basic Qualifications for Principal Field Service Engineer:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related engineering experience.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain DoD 8140 approved IAT Level II (or higher) compliant certification. Examples include: Security+CE, CCNP, and CISSP. This certificate must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
+ Competence in Linux, troubleshooting, engineering documents, tools and equipment
+ Familiarity with comms/networking operations
+ Ability to support assignment at location (RAAF Base Edinburgh in Australia) for minimum of 18 months
+ Ability to pass a new hire physical if determined necessary by Company, based on OCONUS location.

Primary Level Salary Range: $85,600.00 - $128,400.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $106,800.00 - $160,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. Summary of Responsibilities
The Field Engineer is a hands-on, field-based role responsible for the end-to-end execution of Pipeline Conditioning projects. This includes managing project logistics, performing equipment installation and operation, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance. The position requires up to 60% travel and offers the flexibility to live anywhere in the U.S. near a major airport.
Essential Functions
Lead on-site projects, including the hands-on installation, daily operation, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of specialized field equipment. This involves equipment set-up/tear-down, gas sampling, and data logging.
Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, utilizing engineering controls and personal stop-work authority to mitigate hazards. Uphold all DOT, Hazmat, and PHMSA regulations, including maintaining a valid medical card, a clean driving record, and participating in required drug testing.
Autonomously manage all project logistics, including booking your own travel, scheduling field crews, and coordinating the shipment of necessary equipment and supplies.
Maintain clear, daily professional communication with clients, team members, and company leadership. Provide detailed, accurate reports on project status, data, and any arising issues.
This role requires extensive travel, with approximately 50-60% of the year (averaging 180 days) spent traveling to and working hands-on at job sites across the country. The Construction Field Engineer supports construction project teams by managing and coordinating technical aspects on-site. This role ensures the proper implementation of design plans, compliance with specifications, accurate tracking and timely project completion. Responsibilities may vary from project to project, but the Field Engineer always works closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth construction operations. Coordinate all field deliveries. Ensure the crews are maintaining neat and orderly storage areas to maximize efficiency.
Review material submittals and ensure delivered materials are in compliance with approved submittals.
Collect and submit all delivery documentation for stored material billings
Complete periodic review of material on site to ensure shortages do not delay production.
Job Costing
Collect and submit field installation quantity tracking at least daily to ensure up to date LCPR (Labor Cost Productivity Reporting) data.
Review LCPR for discrepancies from budget, investigate items not in alignment to evaluate for potential improvements and accuracy.
Management Responsibilities
Collaborate with designers and other contractors to resolve design or constructability issues.
Complete daily reporting and other required reporting promptly.
Assist Project Admin/Coordinator with field-related questions.
Work closely with Project Management in generation of RFIs, submittals and change orders.
Work with Project Manager and Field Supervisor to ensure all testing and quality reporting is completed in a timely fashion. This includes such items as GPC coordinate records, photo documentation, daily reporting, quality checklists, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineer at VMI, Inc. located in Cushing, OK. The Engineer will be responsible for managing projects and tasks related to dredging equipment design and development from conceptualization through project completion as well as revisions and updates to existing products. The engineer will be responsible for creating computer-aided design (CAD) drawings, schematics, technical documentation, and programming. The Engineer will assist with troubleshooting and customer support as needed. The Engineer will also perform other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Project management.
Design heavy marine related equipment. This includes all aspects of machine design including structural, hydraulic, and electrical.
Update and review current product designs and recommend revisions that minimize costs and enhance product performance.
During the design of new products, review current and past product designs, determine manufacturing methods and recommend modifications to improve manufacturability through fabrication and assembly.
Evaluate costs of new parts and products to establish best suited components.
Establish hose and wire routings for assembly.

Job Purpose
The Electrical Test Engineer will be responsible for component testing and validation of cutting-edge electric vehicle drive units. This individual will focus on drive unit test execution for electric powertrains, with a strong focus on electric motors for on next-generation electric vehicle developments. Responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing DVP/PVP test plans. Create and correlate test procedures and test result reports. Collaborate with a talented team of design, CAE, and system engineers to create a highly integrated drive unit assembly with electric traction motor, geartrain, cooling, and power electronics. The position oversees the testing of components and must have familiarity with current eDrive systems to maintain a level of competitiveness in target setting.
Responsibilities (80s of the Position)
Validate electric motor performance and efficiency through the use of dynamometers equipped with power analyzers
Support motor analysis and inverter calibration by specifying and conducting motor tests
Validate, execute, and verify test plans and test results
Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot test cell equipment and instrumentation
Interact with test requestors, technicians, and schedule validation timelines according to development timelines
Provide guidance to technicians and technical associates and verify all work and data output
Build and expand internal testing and calibration capability
Utilize and support external vendors and contractors as needed
Support the definition of test conditions, pass/fail criteria for sub-systems, and completed system.
Correlate life testing to life predictions, refining analysis/models, and collaborate with CAE engineers.
Post-process test results, identify root-cause of potential issues, and make design recommendations to meet the highest level of durability, efficiency, and performance for Canoo vehicles.
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
7+ years of Automotive powertrain development and validation experience, including rotating electric machine, NVH, and power electronic disciplines.
First-hand experience in the development and validation of electric drive unit components and assemblies from prototype into production scenarios.
Experience with motor and vehicle test equipment such as dynamometers and data acquisition hardware and software
Experience of Test-Simulation correlation in the component/sub-system/models.
Prepared test articles, collaborating with testing resources to complete DVP&R activities.
Strong communication skills and experience with presenting results and recommendations to multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Experience
Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
Experience in electric vehicle powertrains, including various traction motor and transmission architectures.
Experience with Matlab/Simulink, Labview/Veristand, CAS, INCA, Canalyzer, Canape, dSPACE/Control Desk, power analysis equipment
Team building and mentoring experience.

Job Duties:
* Act as the SME and Provide technical direction/support to other team members for component material declarations and related environmental compliance.
* Support NPD and provide oversight of Product Regulatory Compliance development activities for products used for UL/CSA/CE/IECEx/ATEX and other applications. Review the design with Engineering and verify compliance with the standard.

* Obtain Agency Certification quotations from global agencies relative to new/maintenance projects; prepare associated Purchase Request documentation.

About the Role
