We're seeking a Project Engineer ready to be on the front lines of a project--giving daily support to the field, project management, and customer teams. Our Project Engineers (PE) are vital in keeping our processes moving along and assists in the execution of project plans. This role will be responsible for specific activities such as coordinating material onsite delivery dates, maintaining RFI, submittals, and change order logs, and will serve as a key point of contact for internal customers.

What you'll do
Our ideal candidate is not only experienced in civil engineering but also possesses a preference for tackling challenges in transportation, private development, stormwater or hydraulic modeling. You'll make crucial decisions independently, find innovative solutions and plan and coordinate projects. As a Project Engineer, you'll make independent decisions and will thrive under pressure. You'll also:
* Plan and coordinate work.
* Apply standard engineering practices and techniques.
* Adjust and correlate data.
* Recognize discrepancies and follow standard procedures.
* Build relationships with clients, municipal staff, board members, and key decision-makers
* Work effectively under tight deadlines.
* Project cost estimating.
* Supporting construction staff with field changes and clarifications.
* Assist with proposal development, scope definition, and budget planning.
* Coordinate permitting with regulatory agencies and navigate local/state requirements.
* Represent and support the team at board/council meetings (1-2/month, varies). Mentor junior staff and provide technical QA/QC.
What it takes
Ideally, you'll have a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering. If you have five or more years of experience in civil design and project management, preferably at a professional consulting firm, we want to talk. You should be a licensed professional engineer or demonstrate the ability to secure licensure shortly after starting employment. Ideally, you will also:
* Speak and write well.
* Have strong analytical and organizational skills.
