Position Description:
The Field Engineer (FE) works directly for the Superintendent and is expected to exercise judgment and discretion in making recommendations, implementing policies and procedures and handling a wide variety of matters in the field. The position is normally, but not necessarily preparatory to becoming an Office Engineer or Project Engineer. The primary purpose of the position is to proactively aid the Superintendent in front-line field management. In addition, the position requires a considerable amount of work, responsibility, persistence, problem solving ability and good attitude, because the FE is responsible for the majority of the layout on a project, supervision of trade workers and subcontractor employees, as well as lift drawings, safety, and quality control responsibilities. Position Qualifications:
* A 4 -year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture or Construction Management.
* Valid Driver's License.

Job Summary
Assists the Project Engineer with being the technical source of information for the project. Responds to questions about drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders and have responsibility for assisting in writing change orders, RFl's, meeting minutes, and reviewing Submittals. Maintains an effective and professional working relationship with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. This position includes three 'steps' (I, II and Senior), which provide for a progression of skill and experience. Step I is the entry level for individuals with a minimum of experience in this position. Step II is used for employees with 2 years of experience in this position, or with experience on larger and more complex projects. The 'Senior' step is used for employees with more than 4 years of experience and/or experience on significantly larger or more complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assists Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and other work tasks and assists with or reviews and processes submittals, change orders, RFl's, and budget forecasting. Ensures the timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval and ultimate disposition of meeting agendas, RFl's and daily reports.
2. Demonstrates an understanding of the project management plan (PMP) and is involved in support and execution of the plan. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the change management process and performs project scope activities and supports the project team to ensure the work needed to complete the project successfully.
3. Ensures the administration of the project quality management plan and demonstrates and reinforces a culture of safety throughout the project.
4. May assist in the calculation of daily production rates and unit costs for self-performed work. Participates in risk management including identification, analysis, response planning and monitoring and control on a project and demonstrates competency in understanding the environmental control processes for the project and takes corrective actions when necessary.
5. May be responsible for overseeing/managing the BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordination between Subcontractors and Designers.
6. May be responsible for the documentation and submittal for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification of a building and for creating and updating Digital Record Drawings (ORD).
7. May provide lines, grades and layout as required for the project while maintaining an organized log book.
8. May provide the following weekly quantities: maintains accurate quantity logs and reports quantities in compliance with the cost control manual. Completed logs are to be filed with the project files. Perform elements of the processes involved in budgeting and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget. Demonstrates business acumen within area of responsibility. (Not all Field Engineers track quantities)
9. Provides support to superintendents required for the execution of the work and assists in the resolution of field problems as necessary.
Minimum Job Requirements
1. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others is essential.
2. Entry-level position that normally requires a four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical/field experience.

hydro GEOPHYSICS (HGI) is a geophysical services company that provides state-of-the-art solutions to our customers' needs. HGI works within the mining, nuclear, engineering, and environmental industries. We are currently looking to expand our Tucson, Arizona office by hiring a full-time Staff Geophysicist, Geoscientist, Hydrologist, or Engineer. This is an entry-level or minimal experience position that assists scientists and engineers with data collection, data analysis, and report writing. Beyond fieldwork, the candidate will help process, model, and visualize earth science and geophysical data, as well as integrating GPS and/or surveying data, on a daily or project basis.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Will work outdoors with uneven terrain while carrying heavy equipment (50+ lbs.).
Work independently and with the team.
Problem solve, at times make temporary in-field repairs, and adapt to changing conditions.
Loading and unloading of equipment for field projects.
Vehicle and equipment transport to and from field projects.
Set up, tear down and maintenance of field monitoring equipment.
Other field support as directed by project lead.
Field projects range from two days to two months and requires extensive travel regionally, nationally and globally. This will include remote locations with limited communications and facilities, extreme environmental conditions (health, cold, altitudes, etc.), and possible industrial hazards.

Position Summary

Responsibilities
High level of involvement in the operations of our cost control system and analysis of construction costs.
Participate in monthly forecasting revenue and costs accruals.
Accumulate all necessary data and prepare monthly pay estimates.
Process and estimate change orders and Requests for Information as directed by Project Manager.
Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
Maintain a complete and current record of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals, including a file of letters of transmittal and dates of each transaction.
Process/manage material deliveries - ensure that materials received are properly inspected for quantity and quality and in compliance with Contract documents.
Manage and negotiate subcontractor and material contracts.
Assist in developing and updating project schedule.
Work closely with field construction personnel (Superintendents, Foremen and Crews).

* Assist field teams with safety and technical needs
* Working with the project team, help develop a Hazard Risk Analysis Matrix

* Coordination and communication with the project and safety team.
* Development and estimation of material quantities required for construction.
* Field verification of production quantities and rates of production.
* Monitor and track quality control issues of various materials related to the construction of various projects.
* Verification of material deliveries for conformance to project plans and specifications.
* Preparing and tracking project submittals.
* Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and material deliveries.
* Assist Project Managers with pay applications, job forecasting, change orders, etc.
* Prior to project start, obtain all necessary permitting, responsible for bluestake (utilities locate), review bid, plans and specifications.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
* Heavy Civil and/or Industrial Construction
* Read and understand project documents, including plans, specifications, special provisions, etc.
* Experience with Heavy Job system is a plus.
