This position will receive daily tasking and prioritization from their site lead. The selected candidate will be responsible for operations and maintenance support of the MQ-4C Triton network and communications systems at a Forward Operating Base (FOB). **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Provide real time support for flight operations and maintenance, addressing any issues related to communications and networking to include fault isolation, remediation, and resolution. + Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications and data link systems in military flight test environment, including operations on a flightline, in a hangar, and in command-and-control centers. + Adherence to checklists and procedures to ensure repeated success and providing redlines to procedures when necessary. + Communicate complex technical issues to local support, the Degrader Action Cell (DAC), Main Operation Bases (MOBs), and Responsible Engineers (REs). + Support and lead air crew engagement for proper techniques in solving complex analysis of technical problems that arise during operations. + Assist with trend analysis as needed for Responsible Engineers (REs). + Perform/support review and analysis of supplier design data and definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration. + Take responsibility for the testing, maintenance, and integration of Comms and Networks equipment to include radio terminals, software loads, switches, routers, and firewalls required to support ground and flight test operations. + Work with system admins, maintainers, and onsite personnel to troubleshoot and repair any internal operational issues. ** The selected candidate will be put on a temporary Domestic Assignment and will report to our San Diego, CA site daily prior to international deployment while clearance(s), Visa(s), and other documents are processing. The employee will go through training in San Diego during this period. ** **The expected timeline before deployment is 3-4 months but this will vary.** Initially, this position will work a 9/80 shift. **As the program matures, the shifts may become 12-hour shifts that could include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.** The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site in Australia. Working as a contractor within the industries of infrastructure, construction and mining, the Field Engineer is responsible for the safe, efficient and accurate operation of geotechnical and geophysical site investigation equipment. Given significant responsibility, the Field Engineer is tasked with the smooth and accurate execution of various projects, from deployment of equipment to data acquisition and submission. They will work closely with other equipment operators, gaining hands-on experience with unique heavy machinery and a sophisticated suite of geotechnical instruments in a variety of environments. The Field Engineer will assume numerous other roles as the ever-changing demands of the workplace dictate. The successful candidate must have well-developed interpersonal, organizational and communication skills as well as strong problem-solving abilities. This role requires significant and frequent travel to job sites, mostly within the Intermountain Western US, but sometimes beyond. Travel duration can often be 7-14 days at a time, but can vary longer or shorter, but can vary due to project demands. ConeTec offers generous Per Diem rates for out-of-town work. OVERALL GOALS FOR POSITION Develop a strong working knowledge of site investigation practices and procedures. Build comprehension of soil mechanics, in-situ testing, and geophysical field investigations. Gain experience and exposure as a contractor in several of North Americas largest industries (mining, infrastructure, transportation, commercial development, etc). ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS Equipment Operation Familiarize with and operate CPTu equipment, VST, sampling systems, numerous geophysicalinstruments and other in-situ testing equipment in a safe and productive manner. Become trained, company-certified and competent to operate numerous types of drillingequipment and other pieces of equipment within our extensive fleet. Organize logistics for the mobilization and demobilization of equipment in hard-to-accessenvironments. Inspect equipment for safety and function; report any issues or needs. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various pieces of equipment to ensure optimal performance. Data Collection & Reporting Perform testing to collect data in a timely, orderly and accurate manner. Compile the collected data, sample logs, etc. daily and submit to the Data Teamfor further processing. Collect field notes and photos to guarantee the translation of information from field to office is as highly accurate as possible. With sufficient field experience, opportunities may be available to assist in preparing and compiling the final field data/report for our clients. Health & Safety Identify with and respect ConeTecs safety culture. Ensure proper preparation and knowledge of all necessary safe operating procedures beforebeginning any job. Report any safety-related incidents, infractions, or near misses to the Project Manager and the HSE Officer, immediately. Know and follow the incident reporting protocol at all times. Other General Responsibilities Communicate with Management as to any equipment problems or needs, as well as any field observations that might be of use. Perform other shop functions as required. Seek ways to improve operating procedures/processes. Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving heavy materials up to 50 lbs., climbing, crawling as well as walking on uneven ground, working long hours, and working in all weather conditions. SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Education Requirements Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Geology or Applied Science Experience/Skills Requirements Previous field experience is an asset, in addition to the academic experience noted above. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is an asset. Electrical and mechanical skills are an asset, but not required. Technical Skill Requirements Experience with Microsoft Excel is an asset Electrical and mechanical skills are an asset but not required Soft Skill Requirements Must possess strong work ethic and represent the company in a professional manner. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must be responsible and work well independently or in a team setting with minimal supervision. Must enjoy working outdoors and traveling for extended periods of time (up to 2-3 weeks at a time, several times each year). Must enjoy performing a wide variety of duties and be able to manage multiple tasks andpriorities. Certification Requirements Must have a clean driving record and current/valid driver license.
