Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a **Principal or Senior Principal Network and Communications Field Service Engineer** to our team at **RAAF Base Edinburgh** near **Adelaide, Australia** .
This position will receive daily tasking and prioritization from their site lead. The selected candidate will be responsible for operations and maintenance support of the MQ-4C Triton network and communications systems at a Forward Operating Base (FOB).
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Provide real time support for flight operations and maintenance, addressing any issues related to communications and networking to include fault isolation, remediation, and resolution.
+ Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications and data link systems in military flight test environment, including operations on a flightline, in a hangar, and in command-and-control centers.
+ Adherence to checklists and procedures to ensure repeated success and providing redlines to procedures when necessary.
+ Communicate complex technical issues to local support, the Degrader Action Cell (DAC), Main Operation Bases (MOBs), and Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Support and lead air crew engagement for proper techniques in solving complex analysis of technical problems that arise during operations.
+ Assist with trend analysis as needed for Responsible Engineers (REs).
+ Perform/support review and analysis of supplier design data and definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, and system integration.
+ Take responsibility for the testing, maintenance, and integration of Comms and Networks equipment to include radio terminals, software loads, switches, routers, and firewalls required to support ground and flight test operations.
+ Work with system admins, maintainers, and onsite personnel to troubleshoot and repair any internal operational issues.
** The selected candidate will be put on a temporary Domestic Assignment and will report to our San Diego, CA site daily prior to international deployment while clearance(s), Visa(s), and other documents are processing. The employee will go through training in San Diego during this period. **
**The expected timeline before deployment is 3-4 months but this will vary.**
Initially, this position will work a 9/80 shift. **As the program matures, the shifts may become 12-hour shifts that could include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.**
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site in Australia. This position requires the ability to **travel up to 50%** of the time once in final location.
_This position can be filled at either the Principal Field Service Engineer OR Senior Principal Field Service Engineer level, depending upon the qualifications below._
**Basic Qualifications for Principal Field Service Engineer:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related engineering experience.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain DoD 8140 approved IAT Level II (or higher) compliant certification. Examples include: Security+CE, CCNP, and CISSP. This certificate must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
+ Competence in Linux, troubleshooting, engineering documents, tools and equipment
+ Familiarity with comms/networking operations

Primary Level Salary Range: $85,600.00 - $128,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. What You'll Do

You will also study, develop, assess, and roll out new methods to process the engines (e.g., new inspection limits, new repairs, new methods of disassembly/assembly/test, etc.).
Pratt & Whitney in Bridgeport, WV is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA's regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
Key Responsibilities:
* Tracks and reports trends in the conditions of the engines, engine parts and accessories and engine test trends.
* Implements new or revised inspection limits, modifications, repairs, etc. based on the observed trends.
* Work with other departments within the broader company as required to achieve project goals.
* Apply continuous improvement methodology in all tasks in an effort to improve shop processes: man-hours, turn-around time, cost of poor quality, etc.
* On an as-needed basis, provides/coordinates training on various technical topics such as rotor balancing, failure mode analysis/identification, etc.
* Works with Customer Service and Sales in the development of specifications that define the work to be performed on the engines while in the shop (e.g. how accessories are processed, what Service Bulletins to perform, how to manage life limited parts, etc.).
* Primary workload is a mix of longer-term projects that span durations of weeks or months along with more immediate-term tasks. Work is approximately 50% in the shop and 50% at your desk.
* Fluency in the English language (both written and verbal)
Qualifications You Must Have:
* An Advanced Degree in Engineering with 5+ years' experience in an MRO environment or other manufacturing setting, OR a bachelor's degree and 8+ years' prior relevant experience
* U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
Qualifications We Prefer:
* Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree
* Experience in continuous improvement methodology (CORE/ACE/Lean/Kaizen/Six Sigma)
* Overhaul and repair processes experience
* Previous experience in aviation/aerospace industry or other Aftermarket repair shops
* Extensive and demonstrable experience in data analysis, problem solving, and solution implementation
* Experience with PWC Turbofan and Turboprop Engines (emphasis on PW800, but also PW300, PW500, PW600, and PT6A & PT6E)

The Contemporary American Theater Festival at Shepherd University is welcoming applications for the position of Projections/Media Engineer. CATF, a LORT D summer festival and leading producer of contemporary plays, is dedicated to telling diverse stories and developing new American theater. The festival premieres or produces multiple plays per season in 3 venues. CATF is committed to supporting the unique needs of new work while fostering an environment of fun and company community. Located 90 minutes from DC, CATF makes its home in one of America's coolest small towns, Shepherdstown, WV.
The Video/Media Engineer will typically work with the Projections Designer in one venue to implement their vision for the production, potentially incorporating a mixture of playback and live sources. The Engineer may work alongside other engineers and will also be responsible for supervising a Projections/Media Intern who will assist with system setup and then serve as a operator during performances.
Applicants should have experience working in flexible spaces with temporary projection systems and should be comfortable with basic theatrical rigging and working at heights over 20 feet (in lifts, ladders, or catwalks). Experience with Qlab, basic projector setup, and computer networking is required. Experience with crew management, equipment purchase and/or rental specification, and NDI video transport and/or live streaming is preferred.
Position is seasonal, from May 30 thru July 12, although an extension through early August may be available. All staff and interns are provided free air-conditioned housing within walking distance of the theaters and workspaces (also air conditioned,) 1-2 meals per day during tech, and free use of university gym, pool, and laundry facilities.
