As a Graduate/Professional Traffic & ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) Design Engineer and an experienced self-motivated individual, you will use your project engineer skills to work in a team environment and lead on a variety of design projects in Minnesota and across the country.
Responsibilities:
Our team is looking for someone that possesses the following skills:
Independently apply standard civil and traffic engineering principles and techniques
Design traffic engineering elements of infrastructure projects, such as roadway lighting, traffic signals, signing, and pavement markings, traffic control.
Perform preliminary and final ITS Design ITS engineering elements of infrastructure projects, including fiber optic and schematics, changeable message devices, roadway monitoring and detection devices, and signal interconnect
Identifies ITS processes and latest technology to develop system engineering, design, verification, and acceptance testing for innovative ITS projects
Prepare traffic and ITS design bid packages, including plans, specifications and engineer's estimates for successful letting and construction
Perform quality assurance detail checking reviews of plans, specifications and estimates prior to submittal
Perform traffic signal warrant analysis and prepare Intersection Control Evaluation (ICE) studies
Utilize applicable design standards (DOT, State Aid, County, or City-specific) and applies them in a context-specific manner to their designs
Write proposals, scopes of work, and prepare project budgets
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
2-6 years of experience in Traffic and ITS Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer (Professional) or working toward Professional Licensure (Graduate)
Proficient with MicroStation and SignCAD
Familiarity with traffic and ITS design manuals and standards such as the MUTCD, MnDOT Traffic Engineering Manual, MnDOT Design Scene, MnDOT Sample Plan, MnDOT ITS Design Manual, and MnDOT Quality Management Process Manual
Working knowledge of traffic signal timing, phasing, and controller operations, and traffic operations software such as Synchro/Sim Traffic, Highway Capacity Manual, and VISSIM
Attention to detail and detailed design
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, organization and multi-tasking skills
Excellent technical, written and oral communication skills
Familiarity with industry practices and traffic engineering principles

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $80,000 - $120,000 per year. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.

Job Summary:
A Project Engineer acts as a key member of project engineering team supporting the Food and Dairy Department in the successful and timely completion of assigned projects. Projects may be comprised of different technologies consisting of Spray Drying, Evaporation, Filtration and Liquid Processing. The focus for this position is on Spray Drying technology. Additionally, the Project Engineer may act as the Project Manager for select projects.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Participates in all phases of a project from initial customer meetings through pre-award sales support, cost estimation, proposal generation, engineering, commissioning and start up. Is responsible for specific technical areas of the project, specifying technical solutions and equipment which meet customer expectations/specifications within the time and budget constraints of the contract.
Adheres to design standards and optimization of engineering designs to meet customer specifications within project budgets.
Proactively anticipates technical, schedule, execution or commercial problems and exercises judgment to meet project commitments.
Responsible for documenting and keeping accurate records of customer meetings, discussions and correspondence as well as maintaining well-organized technical files for project document control - i.e., generating outgoing deliverables, document transmittals, version control, tracking incoming customer approvals and filing.
Responsible for working with designers to complete General Arrangement and Hole and Load Drawings.
Creates and maintains utility lists and equipment tag lists.
Specifies and sizes components such as valves, pumps, instrumentation, etc.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Program Audio DSP systems to integrate microphones, speakers, and audio conferencing.
Configure Team/Zoom/Google codecs and video conferencing camera systems.
Responsible for ensuring proper installation of integrated systems, quality control of AV infrastructure, testing and final calibrations.
Interface with clients to include demonstration of new system operations, and client training.
Commission AV systems, troubleshoot and optimize, including final testing and turnover of integrated systems to clients.
Independently program large scale projects both audio and video.
Develop and write test reports with a working understanding of testing equipment.
Maintain clean and safe worksite.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:
3+ years as Field Engineer or Conferencing Audio DSP Programmer (Q-SYS and/or Biamp preferred)
CTS and CTS-I Certification Preferred
Q-SYS level 2 and/or Biamp Advanced Training preferred
Experience deploying and troubleshooting Crestron Flex System MTR and Zoom room kits.
Working knowledge of Shure audio equipment and programming preferred.
Intermediate understanding video signal flow.
Experience with conferencing camera systems: Yealink, Vaddio, QSC, Aver, 1Beyond, Cisco, Polycom preferred.
Ability to load Crestron code to processors, troubleshoot Crestron systems and working knowledge of Crestron Toolbox.
Experience working with networked audio, PTP management and Dante controller.
Proven ability to commission commercial AV and train clients on system function.
Experience with video switching systems: Crestron etc..
Knowledge of installation of products such as ceiling/wall mounted speakers, displays, cameras, cabling infrastructure, AV racks, wall plates and interfaces (audio, video, control, and networking).
Experience with Managed Platforms (Crestron XiO Cloud, etc.).
Knowledge of terminations including, but not limited to, audio, video, control, and network connectors.

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $80,000 - $120,000 per year. GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States.

Job Summary:
A Project Engineer acts as a key member of project engineering team supporting the Food and Dairy Department in the successful and timely completion of assigned projects. The individual supports and/or executes projects by maintaining or increasing profitability of contracts through efficient engineering design and execution, while simultaneously achieving customer satisfaction. Projects may be comprised of different technologies consisting of Spray Drying, Evaporation, Filtration and Liquid Processing. The focus for this position is on Spray Drying technology. Additionally, the Project Engineer may act as the Project Manager for select projects.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Participates in all phases of a project from initial customer meetings through pre-award sales support, cost estimation, proposal generation, engineering, commissioning and start up. Is responsible for specific technical areas of the project, specifying technical solutions and equipment which meet customer expectations/specifications within the time and budget constraints of the contract.
Adheres to design standards and optimization of engineering designs to meet customer specifications within project budgets.
Proactively anticipates technical, schedule, execution or commercial problems and exercises judgment to meet project commitments.
Responsible for documenting and keeping accurate records of customer meetings, discussions and correspondence as well as maintaining well-organized technical files for project document control - i.e., generating outgoing deliverables, document transmittals, version control, tracking incoming customer approvals and filing.
Responsible for working with designers to complete General Arrangement and Hole and Load Drawings.
Creates and maintains utility lists and equipment tag lists.
Specifies and sizes components such as valves, pumps, instrumentation, etc.
Creates component technical specifications for design department and participates in design reviews.
Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
Responsible for coordination of shipping equipment to site with logistics department support.
Supports close out of mechanical punch-list items during installation phase of projects.
Performs input/output (I/O) and mechanical checkout of installed equipment on site.
Assists with maintenance and operator training at customer sites during project start up.
Responsible for completion of engineering and commissioning tasks for projects according to GEA standards, customer specifications and applicable regulations.
Utilizes the tools and documentation defined by the GEA standards through all phases of the project.
Provides detailed information to the project manager to facilitate planning and execution of the project including risk identification and mitigation, work breakdown structures and activity lists.
Works with cross functional teams to complete project deliverables, determine customer needs and ensure the applicability of designs and solutions.
Provides technical support to resolve customer problems related to equipment/system performance and process trouble shooting.
Assist in planning and implementation of tasks such as test procedures, installation RFQ and site support, commissioning plans and site acceptance based on contractual requirements.
Actively supports the Department/Project Manager in identification and justification of scope changes and assists in preparation of subsequent cost/schedule impact estimates and change orders to be submitted to the customer.
Create request for quotations documents and assist Procurement in vendor technical bid evaluation, vendor selection and management.
Support service organization efforts as required.
Be familiar and ensure compliance with government regulations, such as safety standards, environmental regulations, etc. and industry standards such as sanitary requirements.
Adheres to GEA Environmental Health and Safety policies in addition to OSHA regulations.
Assists in the preparation of O&M manuals and Spare Parts List.
May simultaneously be assigned to act as Project Manager on select projects.
Responsible for utility, instrumentation, and motor location drawings.
Supports the Department/Project Manager in developing project plans, cost estimates and execution plans.

* Familiarity with data acquisition and controls experience is desired.

Additional Information:
The estimated hiring range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000 per year plus bonus. The starting pay for this role with no prior experience is $80,000.
