A field market manager is responsible for hiring, training, and managing marketing staff to promote the brand and achieve other marketing goals. Their main objective is to get their products "out there" in front of real customers and at places like retail stores, events, malls, and public locations.

As the head of the field marketing team, a field market manager is also in charge of building marketing campaigns, scoping out possible venues for field marketing opportunities, and working with senior marketing executives to set goals and determine potential routes of achieving these goals. The role is in middle management, which means a field market manager works closely with their marketing team and senior management.

The most essential skills that a field market manager needs are communication, leadership, decision-making, and teamwork. Apart from skills, they also need a sound background in marketing, which means that at least a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or other related fields is often required. Relevant experience in marketing, preferably in a leadership role, is also a strong advantage.

As middle managers, field market managers can earn around $46,000 a year on top of benefits and bonuses.
