NATURE OF WORK The Vibratory Plow Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining vibratory plow equipment (specifically Vermeer 1250i or equivalent) to install underground conduit, fiber optic cable, and utilities in accordance with project plans and safety standards. The operator works collaboratively with the construction crew and performs support tasks related to underground utility installation REQUISITE SKILLS Experience: * 1-year working with Vermeer or Ditch Witch DDD, or equivalent a plus. * Vermeer 1250i or equivalent. * Multiple conduit placement experience Is a plus. Technical Skills: * Knowledge of utility depths and placements; general knowledge of construction practices. * Able to read blueprints/underground utility plans and interpret work assignments. Education / Certification: * Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. * Company will provide industry training and certifications if not already secured. * CDL is a plus. Physical Requirements / Aptitude: * Able to work in trenches, manholes, tunnels and confined spaces and in work settings with moderate to loud noise levels. * Able to move in different positions - crouching, kneeling, reaching, bending and lifting 75 lbs., unassisted. About the Role We're hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator - Prep Crew to prepare construction sites ahead of paving operations by operating heavy equipment and performing essential groundwork. This is a full‑time, seasonal position that plays an important role in ensuring job sites are ready for safe, smooth, and efficient paving work. Union membership is required for this role.
