POSITION SPECIFICS
Penn State Behrend invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach for the Cross Country/Track and Field program. Reporting to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach plays a key role in the day-to-day operations and long-term success of the program. This position supports competitive excellence while fostering the academic, personal, and athletic development of student-athletes in alignment with the University's mission and the core values of intercollegiate athletics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coaching & Student-Athlete Development
Assist with practice planning, skill instruction, and player development.
Mentor student-athletes to support their athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth.
Assist with game preparation, scouting, and strategy.
Supervise student managers and other personnel.
Recruiting
Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the recruiting process, including identification, evaluation, communication, and athlete visits.
Coordinate visiting team requests and assist with prospect visit logistics as needed.
Program Operations
Assist with gathering, preparing, and presenting scouting materials and statistical reports.
Assist with team travel planning and logistics.
Support purchasing, inventory, and management of team equipment.
Assist in organizing and operating sport camps and clinics.
Compile, maintain, and analyze statistical and performance data.
Community, Advancement & External Relations
Coordinate team community service initiatives.
Assist with fundraising efforts
Represent the Head Coach and program at events when required.
Ensure availability and professionalism for media requests and public-facing activities.
Compliance & Professional Standards
Adhere to all University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Promote and uphold the strategic goals, policies, and core values of the athletics department.

Survey Scout Trainee Position Summary:
Under the supervision of an assigned Regional Field Manager, the Survey Scout is responsible for discovering property corner monuments and performing preliminary reconnaissance in preparation for the arrival of a survey crew. The survey scout will use a magnetic locator (metal detector) and a shovel to discover and expose property corner monuments. Safe operation of a company vehicle is a must as the Survey Scout will frequently travel between job sites on a daily basis. Survey Scouts will be trained to understand legal survey documents including legal descriptions, property deeds, sub-plats, and tax maps. It is intended that the Survey Scout will progress through a well-ordered Survey Scout Training Program that will develop the Scout into a Survey Field Crew Chief. As such, the Scout must show initiative and motivation while progressing through the program. This work is performed outdoors year-round in various weather conditions. Requires the ability to move in various standing and sitting positions and the ability to lift 30 pounds frequently and up to 70 pounds occasionally (with assistance).

**What You Will Do**
The Field Associate II is responsible for working with an internal team of plant breeding breeders, research scientists, and field operations to design, execute, and oversee the North America Plant Breeding row crop research and development efforts. Additionally, this role is responsible for continuous improvement and strategic initiative projects that transform the way row crop plant breeding research is conducted within the organization through the use of new equipment technologies, data analytics, and program management design.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
+ Delivering the highest quality field data as part of North America's plant breeding R&D pipeline by providing optimal trial management.
+ Responsible for the implementation of unique and innovative technology solutions designed to improve research design and operations success through the use of new tools and methodologies to improve overall plant breeding phenotyping such as the pilot and use of geospatial systems, agronomic planting and harvesting tools, harvesting shelling systems, and data capture applications.
+ Collaborate with project team members to deliver detailed experimental protocols that enable advancement decisions by our scientists and placement decisions to our customers.
+ Organize and execute day-to-day priorities of the site either alone or as the leader of a small team such as: pre-season logistical trial planning, safety, and compliance adherence in accordance with local and federal guidelines, and in season phenotyping activities performed by contractors.
+ Train team members and seasonal employees on standard operating procedures, site and operational safety guidelines, and tool operations.
+ Engage in community relation activities including but not limited to community volunteer efforts, sustainability activities, and serve as a technical representative to external parties in partnership with commercial marketing and other functions on agronomic tops such as product pipeline development, agronomy practices, and compliance standards.
+ Travel up to 15% of the time particularly during peak seasons, which could be within a multi-state region.
+ Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons (including non-traditional day time hours with the potential of limited overnight travel).
**Required Qualifications:**
+ BS in Agronomy, Life sciences, Engineering, Computer Sicnece, or related field with at least 2 years of proven experience through the combination of previous employment, co-op, or internship job experience OR Masters Degree in relevant field with 1 year proven experience through the combination of previous employment, internship, or academic experience;
+ Broad knowledge of agricultural equipment and row crop production practices and history of leveraging that knowledge in a research environment;
+ Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team based environment;
+ Capable of pulling, analyzing, and maintaining large data sets;
+ Basic understanding and passion for emerging trends in agriculture;
+ Experience with both standard MS Office computer and software systems used in scientific data analysis, with the ability to quickly learn new software programs and tools;

Position: Assistant Track & Field Coach

Job Description:
Garfield Heights City Schools is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Track & Field Coach to support the high school track & field program. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Varsity Head Coach to train student-athletes across various events, promote sportsmanship and teamwork, and uphold district and OHSAA standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong event-specific expertise, a commitment to athlete development, and the ability to foster a positive and inclusive team environment
Key Responsibilities:
Mentorship & Athlete Development: Support student-athletes through skill instruction, encouragement, and individualized development across sprints, distance, jumps, throws, or relays (based on assignment).
Program Support: Assist the Head Coach in implementing a comprehensive track & field program that emphasizes fundamentals, proper technique, and competitive readiness.
Compliance & Eligibility: Ensure athletes meet all academic, behavioral, and eligibility requirements in accordance with OHSAA and Garfield Heights City Schools policies.
Practice & Meet Preparation: Help design and facilitate structured practice sessions, provide event-specific coaching, and support meet strategy and decision-making.
Safety & Conduct: Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment during practices, meets, travel, and all team-related activities.
Team Operations: Assist with communication, scheduling, equipment needs, meet management, and logistics.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Coach, other assistant coaches, and athletic staff to ensure effective coordination across all track & field disciplines.
Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and the community to strengthen support for the track & field program.
Professional Growth: Stay current on coaching strategies, OHSAA rules, and best practices for athlete performance and youth development.
Other Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Varsity Head Track & Field Coach, Athletic Director, or school administration.
Qualifications:
Valid Pupil Activity Permit with the Ohio Department of Education
Satisfactory BCI/FBI background checks
Prior high school or collegiate coaching experience preferred (minimum 3-5 years strongly encouraged)
Strong understanding of track & field training, techniques, and event-specific development
Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with students, families, and staff
Demonstrated commitment to academic success, sportsmanship, and student well-being

This position is starting at part time, but could become full time. An understanding of Ashland University's mission and goals is required.
