We are seeking a skilled Trailer Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of trailers to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trailers including brakes, lights, tires, and suspension systems
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs
Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all trailers meet safety and compliance standards
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
Replace and repair trailer doors, hinges, flooring, and other structural components
Service and repair refrigeration units on temperature-controlled trailers (if applicable)
Collaborate with transportation team to prioritize repair schedules and minimize downtime
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
2+ years of experience in trailer maintenance and repair preferred
Strong knowledge of air brake systems, electrical systems, and trailer components
Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
Welding and fabrication skills preferred

you must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware.
Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Performs reactive maintenance of facility equipment and systems utilizing electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills and techniques.
* Performs Preventative Maintenance (PM's) on all facility equipment.
* Interfaces with internal and external customers, suppliers, and/or equipment vendors to resolve equipment issues.
* Helps schedules PM downtime with production
* Helps develop PM tasks
* Maintains PM records and information on specific equipment within MP2 Maintenance Data Base
* Communicate with module managers to resolve equipment related facility problems. Works with outside vendors on purchasing and projects.
* Assists in maintaining inventory of spare parts and supplies.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Ability to climb and work on tall ladders safely/comfortably.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
* Two-year associate degree in HVAC Technology and/or equivalent skills and at least 3 - 5 years applicable experience is preferred.
* Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings is preferred with good communications skills.
* Strong electrical, mechanical and HVAC amplitude is preferred.
* Available for on-call coverage and work during plant holiday shutdowns and weekends as needed.
* Strong knowledge in basic power hand tools is preferred.
* Strong knowledge in basic uses of DVM, AMP Probe, Meggers, Freon sensing probe, Air Flow meters, etc. is preferred.
* Basic PVC, copper and black iron plumbing abilities a plus
* High school diploma or equivalent is required
