General Description Provide technical assistance in a professional manner, act as liaison for election officials, and perform other required activities during each election; Performs maintenance, testing, preparation, training, delivery and return for voting systems - the ballot scanning equipment used on Election Day and the direct record electronic system (DRE) used in Early Voting and Election Day; Utilize bar code technology to record the movement of the voting equipment and components throughout the election process; Provides assistance in inventory of all election equipment, components and supplies.
Examples of Work Performed
Performs maintenance and testing on the paper ballot scanning equipment and Direct Record Electronic voting equipment (DRE), connecting to Laptop and software
Provides technical support of personal computers' connectivity to the online voter registration system and early voter posting system including installation of personal computers, monitors, printers, and network communications devices; Schedules installation by contacting client by phone
Notifies supervisor of any mechanical, maintenance or safety issues with recurring problems related to any vehicles owned or rented by the department
Provides assistance to early voting clerks and election officials in a clear and professional manner
Performs the preparation, assembly, and proofing of the election officials supply kits
Performs DRE electronic ballot proofing including audio
Performs paper ballot proofing and distribution
Performs pre-tests and public tests of all election equipment and components
Delivers and tests the computers connectivity to the DRE equipment used for early voting
Routes the delivery and return of the early voting and Election Day equipment and supplies
Provides phone support to election officials on Election Day
Utilizes bar code technology to record the movement of the voting equipment and components throughout the election process and of election supplies
Provides technical support on Election Day and during the early voting process
Assists in election officials training by setting up equipment, chairs, and video equipment
Resolves routine questions and problems concerning voting equipment and procedures
Troubleshoots in fieldservice environment related to online voter registration system, early voting posting system, ballot scanning equipment, DRE equipment and network communications
Tests the voting system laptops to ensure connectivity and accuracy at Rally Stations prior to and on election night
Provides training, assistance and technical support to Rally station personnel on election night
Assists other department divisions as required
Surveys polling places for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ensure that voters with disabilities are safe and have the ability to cast their votes without assistance
Acts as a liaison for election activities related to election services contracts with municipalities, school districts, and political parties
Attends training as assigned by supervisor to maintain, enhance, or acquire job skills
Performs related work as assigned
Education and Experience
Two Academic years from an accredited college or university in Electronics or Computer Science
One (1) year related experience
Two (2) years of related experience may be substituted for one (1) year of education
Certificates, Licenses and Registration:
Must have a current valid Texas motor vehicle operator's license
Must be able to be insured by the County's insurance carrier
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the Election Code, Tax Laws, rules and procedures
Ability to read and interpret documents such as tax laws and ordinances, computer program instructions and election law procedures

Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.

You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

Job Description
Job Summary: The FieldServiceTechnician 1 provides face-to-face customer service located at an off-site location and is responsible for minor troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning of various light and heavy industrial rental equipment.

Essential Functions:
Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Performs minor repairs and minimal troubleshooting offsite with minimal supervision
Performs minor troubleshooting and minimal diagnoses of equipment malfunctions and failures
Removes and install parts, disassembles and assembles basic components
Tests, makes adjustments, and verifies proper operation of all repairs and adjustments
Prepares and completes all job related documents, writes service reports, orders parts, and maintains clear customer records; in addition, accesses databases required to complete job
Operates equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates
Maintains service vehicle inspection records, daily inspections and driver logs as required by the Department of Transportation
Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations
Maintains all company equipment, tools, and vehicle in a good, clean, and working order
Communicate job progress to supervisor and customer as needed
Completes assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate time and re-work standards
Works overtime as required by workload and customers' needs
Completes all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training in a timely and proficient manner
Projects professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance; may be relied upon to act as a mentor to lower-level Technian
Requires regular and punctual employee attendance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of safe work procedures and practices

Salary: 112 - $37,678.00 minimum salary
Purpose of Classification
Performs technical work in support of assigned IT programs or communications function. Duties include providing support and assistance to all Cameron county personnel on a computer or any devices such as a printer, scanner, or laptop and providing remote assistance through a remote-control software or through the phone. Positions in this class perform routine technology maintenance and identify needed corrective actions to resolve discrepancies; answer information technology questions; and maintain systems documents and records.
Essential Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Installs and configures software on new personal computers with related peripherals; installs, sets up and configures voice and data communication systems; troubleshoots, resolves and documents applications and software issues; performs routine and preventive maintenance on communications and/or computer equipment.
Receives and processes service requests for assigned department. Reviews documents for completeness and accuracy; pair documents to related information such as matching purchase orders to invoices and/or matching payments to account files/billings, etc.; codes information to ensure accurate processing, and that appropriate department/program is credited or debited.
Runs weekly reports of service request/work order progress; copies and/or distributes reports; establishes and maintains both automated and manual accounting records and files; and performs record retention tasks as dictated by County policy.
Prepares, reviews, and processes purchasing documents. Maintains assigned inventory; prepares purchase orders for needed software, communications, materials, equipment, and supplies; receives and distributes incoming shipments; reviews and forwards for payment.
Prepares various department network documents requiring knowledge of department policies, programs, and procedures and which may involve researching, compiling, analyzing, retrieving and/or summarizing data.
Provides assistance and information to employees, managers, vendors, citizens, local businesses, and/or and other interested parties regarding assigned technology functions; serves as liaison between supervisors, vendors, and other departments in regards to purchasing policies and activities.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) years of experience performing technical support and/or telecommunications work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Associate's Degree in Computer Technology, Computer Information Systems or Computer Science preferred.
