This Position reports to:
Technical Support Manager
The Marine FieldService Engineer (FSE) plans and executes, with minimal professional guidance, complex technical field assignments involving the installation, modification, test, inspection or repair of company products and equipment. The FSE may also coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting customer commitments. Since the FSE is often the one who interacts with the customer's operation people, they may also recommend measures to improve operations and customer service.
This role contributes to the Process Automation, Marine and Ports Division in Miramar, FL. The work model for the role is hybrid #LI-Hybrid.
Your role and responsibilities:
Works independently to install, modify, test, repair, or inspect company products and equipment including, but not limited to: liquid cooled variable frequency drives, both low and medium voltage, and automation systems and programming.
Performs or coordinates complex and diverse engineering activities associated with field projects.
Interprets technical drawings and schematics and makes changes as necessary in the field to reflect work carried out on site.
Increases product and technical knowledge through factory or third-party training, technical manuals, and conventional or non-conventional resources
Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying personal knowledge and experience.

Qualifications for the role:
Four or more years' experience in marine power generation and power distribution with a focus on variable frequency drives, both low and medium voltage, and control systems and programming.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or another Electrical technical field.
Familiarity with marine/offshore work environment and procedures.
Experience in marine power generation and power distribution.
Preferred experience with ABB marine equipment.
Ship electrician experience or have experience from shipyards, understanding and interest in marine installations.

What will you be doing?
As a FieldService Engineer, Electrical & Automation USA , you will play a key role in meeting the growing demand for E&A service requests. Responsibilities:
Perform repairs, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance on Wärtsilä control systems, including Engine Control Systems, Power Management Systems (PMS), Connectivity devices (HMI, Firewalls, and Servers), and general Vessel Automation.
Prepare detailed and accurate service reports to document work performed and provide recommendations for future maintenance or improvements.
Conduct technical communications with Wärtsilä fieldservice stakeholders and customers to ensure clear understanding of work progress and outcomes.
Ensure that all work is executed in compliance with Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QEHS) guidelines and customer-site procedures.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented FieldTechnician to perform site surveys and telecommunications installations for MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) properties. Site surveys will require accessing MDUs and documenting information about the building that will determine build requirements. The installations will involve mounting rooftop radio antennas, running Ethernet and coax cables, and installing and turning up telecommunications equipment at various MDU locations. Safety training will be provided and required for the job.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct detailed site surveys to access building physical layout, condition, cable type and line of site from MDU to serving wireless donor (tower or building).
Evaluate structural integrity and suitability for installing telecommunications equipment and associated cabling.
Collect and document all survey information for communication and direction with engineering team.
Ensure all materials and tools are inventoried and prepared for each installation job.
Installation of wireless radio equipment on roof tops along with associated cabling will be required. Access will be with ladders, mechanical lifts, or via roof top hatches or doors depending on the MDU type.
Installation of telecommunications equipment inside MDU communications rooms may require wall mounted backboards as well as wall mounted equipment and associated cabling.
Use of construction tools such as ladders, saws, drills, cable crimpers, and other hand tools will be required as well as use of a company provided laptop computer and signal testing devices.
After the installation of all equipment and cabling, antenna alignment and signal testing will be required with test equipment and laptop computer.
Prepare and submit comprehensive job reports.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies during on-site activities.
Maintain clear, effective, and professional communication with property managers, tenants, and internal teams.
This position requires daily travel to the job sites with a company-provided vehicle.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a technical field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in field installation, operations, telecommunications, or a related technical field.
Previous construction experience and electrical apprentice experience is highly desired.
Knowledge of fixed wireless and cable technologies is a plus.
Experience with site survey tools, cable installation tools and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret building schematics and architectural drawings.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Must be able to use laptop computer with MS office tools.

Role Accountabilities:
Growth: Coordinate with account leaders and regional management to lead the growth with local agencies and the FDOT district within your local market. This includes maintaining client relationships across a variety of clients, identifying and leading project pursuits, and identification of additional resources to meet future project needs. Additionally, assist regional leaders in identifying and recruiting new entry-level and experienced transportation engineers.
