ABM Industries is seeking an Electrical Field Test Technician (NETA 3,4 or equivalent) to join our Electrical Power Services team. The Electrical Field Test Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient installation and testing of electrical power distribution equipment for customers in the assigned territory. In this role, you will travel approximately 50% of the time, working both independently and with a crew, and handle the performance and management of routine, moderately complex, and complex tasks and projects, record-keeping, evaluation of test data, and preparation of field service reports. Additionally, Level 3 and 4 Technicians will be responsible to coach, mentoring, training, developing, and supervising Level 1 and 2 Trainees and Assistants.
Position Summary
Pay: $60.00-$80.00 hourly.

Essential Functions
Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data on electrical systems.
Supervise Trainees, Assistants, and Technicians in the completion of electrical testing duties.
Guide, mentor, train, and supervise Level 1 and 2 certified NETA Trainees and Assistant Technicians.
Observe testing, assign work on projects to capable technicians, ensure testing of similar items is consistent across test technicians
Track project scope completion and communicate ABM and Customer Management
Maintain, test, repair, rebuild, and replace low, medium, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
Test and inspect low, medium, and high-voltage cable installations.
Maintain, test, and repair transformers and related equipment.
Test and calibrate solid-state and electromechanical relays.
Perform relay calibration and power metering.
Conduct low and medium-voltage motor control center and contractor testing.
Start-up, troubleshoot, and repair generator controls and transfer schemes.
Test and commission protection and control systems on high voltage substations.
Sample and interpret insulated fluids.
Complete Job Hazard Analyses including but not limited to arc-flash and shock analyses
Review and submit timecards, expense, and project reports.
Document test results and complete field reports.
Rotate emergency on-call duty.
Maintain strict compliance with regulatory laws
Assist in the sales process acting as the technical expert in electrical testing and maintenance of electrical equipment
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in electrical testing.
The candidate should have experience working with a team.
Experience in working on projects
Familiar with NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Standards
Familiar with NFPA70E Electrical Safety standards
Ability to troubleshoot electrical performance deficiencies
Ability to travel regionally and nationally 50%

Meet regularly with the Parachute Technical Account Managers, Director of Managed Services, and senior engineers to assess and minimize business risk and to identify project opportunities.
Develop and maintain knowledge of client networks and computer configurations:
Complete various network assessments and security audit reports for each client site on a regular basis.
Create and maintain detailed IT documentation.
Learn and understand client's line-of-business applications and associated vendors
Parachute Administration:
Record detailed notes and log time in Parachute's ticketing system, Connectwise.
Update ticket notes with tasks completed on each ticket with full description of the problem, resolution steps and results.
Work with Parachute's Service Desk on any documentation requests and discrepancies.
Help to create better internal processes that will benefit our clients.
Create client specific processes as required and detail in their IT documentation.
Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly Parachute meetings

The Impact you will have: In this role, you'll provide hands-on support at client sites, resolving technical issues across hardware, software and networks. What you will be doing:
Drive to client sites as scheduled while adhering to appointment schedules and promptly communicating any delays to the Service Coordinator

Collaborate with VC3 technical staff as onsite support for connectivity issues including ISPs, wireless networks, DHCP, DNS, and remote access technologies including VPN, RDS and Citrix
Educate and guide VC3 clients on technical standards and best practices
Identify recurring issues and initiate problem tickets for them
Make recommendations to the VC3 team for improvements of supported hardware and software
Maintain accurate and real time timesheets, record complete and accurate notes of troubleshooting and communication with clients
Participate in the on-call rotation (1 week every 3-4 months)
