Key Responsibilities:
Monitor network systems and communication links between retailers, terminals, and central systems to identify outages or disruptions.

Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The scope of work to be performed by the electronic technician communications includes, but is not limited to, providing a central clearing-house point for Amtrak communications circuit problems. * The technician must be familiar with the division reporting structure, possess knowledge of data and voice circuit electronics, and have general knowledge of electronics.

**Leidos is seeking a Field Engineering Technicians to provide field inspections of utility poles in the Albany, NY area.** This is an HOURLY full-time role with hours contingent on availability of work. **Field Engineering Tech Responsibilities:** The successful candidate will travel around the Albany area to meet with joint pole owners to determine appropriate attachment heights for new 3rd party attachers. This role will also include traveling around to collect data, field measurements, and photos of utility poles. These poles have maintenance concerns identified by our client in which our field engineers will document these concerns and collect the necessary data for Leidos designers to design their solutions and fixes. In general, travel will be limited on most weeks, but overnight stays are occasionally required depending on the workload. Technicians are expected to meet the goals / expectations set on a weekly basis by their supervisor and communicate their status / progress effectively. As fielding skills are learned, the potential for learning/ performing design will be presented as well.
+ Significant walking is necessary; 95% of this position requires field related work. Candidate will need to be outside year-round and every week as weather and personal safety permit and could be subject to inspection of poles in the following areas: urban, rural, backyard pole lines, privateproperties, and Transmission and Distribution Right of Ways. Poles could potentially be off road and in fields, not always on the roadside.
+ Work locations assigned vary monthly. If the work locations are long distances from the candidate's home, hotels can be provided (including per diem supplements for meals generally between $50-$70 dependent on work location). Key Responsibilities:
Project focus on upgrading advanced commercial printers at retail locations.
Duties may include replacing printer parts, paper feed, power supply, changing the print head, changing toner drum, transfer belt, image unit.
Perform complex upgrades and troubleshooting of printers, servers, hard drives, and monitor systems.
Provide on-site technical support to internal or external customers in resolving complex or escalated technology issues on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment.
Install and remove equipment and systems as required.
Responsible for day-to-day operation of applications and equipment and serve as a customer contact on technical and service-related problems.
Ensure that all schedules, transmission, on-line systems, and problems are resolved in an accurate and timely manner.
Serve as a liaison between customers, departments, and within the organization to lead problem resolution and change management processes.
Determine the most cost-effective repair / resolution to minimize customer downtime.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
Key Skills; Printer experience, Hardware experience
Minimum 2 to 3 years of field service experience, specifically in commercial printers required
Must be able to do extensive traveling via plane and / or car
Must have commercial / large printer experience; Lexmark printer certification nice to have
Experience working on commercial printers and have an electronics / mechanical aptitude
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, networks, databases and network security concepts and tools is required
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office application suite including MS Outlook
Experience with multi-platform Windows O/S required
Working knowledge of Rufus, Windows Server imaging, photo printing experience, ability to troubleshoot system connectivity, Windows configuration
Ability to work independently in a retail environment
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
Able to communicate effectively both written and verbally, with key stakeholders, leadership, partners, team members, other organizations, and customers.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
Demonstrated capability to achieve results in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.

Field Engineering Tech
Field technician job in Albany, NY
Leidos is seeking a Field Engineering Technicians to provide field inspections of utility poles in the Albany, NY area.
This is an HOURLY full-time role with hours contingent on availability of work.
Field Engineering Tech Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will travel around the Albany area to meet with joint pole owners to determine appropriate attachment heights for new 3rd party attachers. This role will also include traveling around to collect data, field measurements, and photos of utility poles. These poles have maintenance concerns identified by our client in which our field engineers will document these concerns and collect the necessary data for Leidos designers to design their solutions and fixes. In general, travel will be limited on most weeks, but overnight stays are occasionally required depending on the workload. Technicians are expected to meet the goals / expectations set on a weekly basis by their supervisor and communicate their status / progress effectively. As fielding skills are learned, the potential for learning/ performing design will be presented as well.
Significant walking is necessary; 95% of this position requires field related work. Candidate will need to be outside year-round and every week as weather and personal safety permit and could be subject to inspection of poles in the following areas: urban, rural, backyard pole lines, private properties, and Transmission and Distribution Right of Ways. Poles could potentially be off road and in fields, not always on the roadside.
Work locations assigned vary monthly. If the work locations are long distances from the candidate's home, hotels can be provided (including per diem supplements for meals generally between $50-$70 dependent on work location). Most weeks, the technician will be working locally (within a 1-2 hour drive one-way)
Candidate can either drive their own personal vehicle with a mileage reimbursement ($0.625/mi) or each week they can get a rental truck/SUV paid for by Leidos
Candidate will receive 16 to 24 hours of training with an experienced field engineer prior to working alone. Hours are flexible based on need dates of inspections. Candidate will be accountable for following Leidos safety procedures and reporting progress daily.
Additional benefits that Field Engineering Techs can look forward to:
Flexible Work Hours. Many Technicians opt to work 10-hour days and take 2-3 extra days off each week
Per-Diem supplements between $50-$70 for meals while staying overnight in hotels
Field Engineering Tech qualifications:
High School diploma minimum requirement
Preferred candidate would possess experience within the power distribution field and/or an AS/BS in engineering (or related STEM Field)
The ideal candidate has prior experience doing field work and distribution component identification.
Candidates must be able to work in both team and independent environments and to organize work to meet deadlines
Must be local to the area.
Knowledge of NESC Standards and Client Standards is helpful.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Willingness to perform both field and office work.
Ability to work long days in outdoor environments
Valid Driver's License and ability to utilize cell phone and 8MP camera
