Purpose:
Performs mobile pre-delivery inspections and on-site equipment diagnostics, service, repair, and maintenance work in line with the service programs. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or Location Manager.
Responsibilities:
o Performs on-site service on all makes of Turf and small Agricultural equipment.
o Actively promotes and sells dealership specific mobile service programs directly to customers
o Coordinates with Service Manager or Location Manager to establish and implement effective processes for all Turf and small Agricultural services offered through dealership specific service programs

Job Description Summary
The Active Oxygens (AO) Field Service Specialist will report to the Technical Services and Engineering Department and will be responsible for the assembly, fabrication, and installation of chemical handling equipment across the North American AO customer base. The Field Service Specialist will split time between fabricating equipment in Evonik's Tonawanda, NY based Fabrication Shop and traveling domestically to Evonik AO's customer base to perform chemical system installations, commissioning, inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting on Evonik-owned equipment. Average travel requirements are expected to be 50%.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To install AO chemical systems and to supervise outside contractors installing systems for customers as required (travel requirement).
To perform routine and preventive maintenance on systems as needed and make recommendations accordingly (travel requirement).
To troubleshoot system problems, and to field design and install equipment for chemical trials in order to ensure that customer systems are operational and safe (travel requirement).
To assemble and fabricate piping and pumping equipment for customer trials and permanent applications and to refurbish equipment as necessary for the AO Product Lines (hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid (PAA) and persulfates). Work may involve pipe fitting, welding, electrical tie-ins, and general layout skills. Work may also entail use of electrical instrumentation and controllers.
Ability to interface with third parties for fabrication, electrical and control work when non-Evonik resources are needed.
Consult with department engineering personnel as needed on fabrication issues and design approach.
Maintain shop equipment (i.e. welding machines, hand tools) and trial equipment such that appropriate specifications are met.
Perform clerical activities such as customer visit reports, time sheets, expense reports, travel planning with reservations, and to document equipment and materials used for projects.
Assist in the critical review of systems for safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance, and ensure that all fabricated equipment meets customer safety requirements, and Evonik standards.

Qualifications

DOT and MSHA certifications required.
Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).

Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

Able to lift more than 50 pounds.

You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.
Qualifications
Must have prior hands on experience with replacing components on laptops and desktops
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Must be comfortable with daily local travel

Technicians are responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customer and company heavy equipment and components. Depending on the location and assignment, the technician will be responsible for some or all of the functions and duties listed below. These repairs may require working hours in addition to the normal work schedule for emergency calls or routine service as required. Pay Rate: Minimum starting wage of $28.41 - $37.48/hour based on location and experience. This is a union position.

Responsibilities
Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts.
Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps.
Determines reusability of parts in accordance with published Caterpillar reusability guidelines.
Orders replacement parts ensuring that parts ordered are correct and complete at time of order.
Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components.
Tests, measures, and adjusts engine and machine systems and components.
Prepares, inspects and operates machines prior to delivery.
Keeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems.
Prepares inspection and appraisal reports.
Prepares accurate and complete service reports timely.
Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance at all times adhering to company policy.
Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.
High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
Three years experience as an Earthmoving Shop Technician working with heavy equipment.
Experience on CAT heavy equipment or similar equipment.
Proficient in mechanical systems (transmissions, engines, hydraulics, etc.).
Ability to diagnose and repair CAT heavy equipment and components in the field.
DOT and MSHA certifications required.
Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
Strong problem solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to operate a service vehicle.
Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
Strong math skills.
Able to lift more than 50 pounds.
Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
Ability to work in the field without supervision.
Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment.
Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
Heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge.
Must have a safe working record.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
Associates degree in a related field is preferred.
CDL License.
