Service Technician - Commercial Generators
Summary
Responsible for ongoing maintenance and repair of contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment. Additionally, this position is responsible for technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects.
Qualification Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
+ Level II Technician requires three years of field experience servicing generator systems with some experience on 500kw+, proficient with preventative maintenance, retrofitting basic controls, minor ATS repairs and loadbanking equipment.
+ All Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED equivalent, related military experience or equivalent field experience.
+ Ability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming and replacing failed engine components.
+ Operational and functional understanding of Automatic Transfer Systems, able to troubleshoot and repair with minimal direction.
+ Ability to read and decipher electronic schematics and troubleshoot discreet mechanical and electronic systems to the component level with guidance from our Product Support team.
+ Experience with or ability to quickly learn advanced generator and electric system controls including Woodward, Beckwith, and PLC equipment in an advanced electric controls environment.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, safety manuals, service manuals and policies and procedures.
+ Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
+ Must observe all safety standards.

Essential Functions
+ Daily travel with independent work structure.
+ Provide 24x7 "on-call" services as required unless on PTO or Off Call.
+ Maintain and safeguard company issued equipment, tools, and instruments.
+ Battery installations and replacements.
+ Perform required preventative maintenance service to equipment under contract as scheduled.
+ Customer contact and interface.
+ Communicate availability status to corporate office.
+ Protect company proprietary information, manuals, and records.
+ Use of electronic and electrical test equipment as necessary.
+ Coordinate and manage all on-site subcontractors hired by PSS as necessary.
+ Maintain company vehicle in safe and operational condition.
+ Ensure that work is performed to PSS standards.
+ Complete all paperwork, including Field Service Reports, Time Sheets, Expense Reports, and other job required reports timely and accurately.
+ Provide technical support to customers upon request.
+ Maintain Technical documentation for study and/or review.
+ Willing and able to attend training as company deems necessary.

Physical Demands
+ Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work. Physical Activity: 85% physical activity required on customer site working with equipment, 15% form completion, email, other administrative tasks and completing technical support activities by way of telephone and computer communication.
+ May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-75 pounds).
+ Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally required to use hands, to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
+ Combination of climbing and balancing to include climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
+ Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to Protective Glasses, Protective Gloves, and Protective Footwear as required.
+ Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to read computer screens, paper documents, equipment.
+ Ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals.
+ Up to 10 consecutive hours driving heavy duty truck.
+ May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
+ Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally and hear others speaking.
+ Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background check, drug testing and MVR clearance.
Work Environment
+ Work is 85%+ in an outdoor environment in all types of weather.
+ The environment is varied since the performance of the essential duties is at customer sites.
+ Must be willing to travel out of market/state up to 25% of the time.
+ Requires exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as temperature and noise extremes, vibrations, machinery, hazardous materials, confined spaces, traffic hazards, and various chemicals.

The Field Service Technician is a key customer facing position that represents the Vantive brand in clinical and hospital settings. This position manages an assigned territory and travels to perform installation, repair, preventative maintenance, training, and other services on a variety of electro-mechanical medical devices. Essential Roles and Responsibilities
⢠Perform installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of electro-mechanical medical equipment, ensuring compliance with SLAs, quality standards, and safety protocols.
⢠Diagnose and resolve equipment failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions using analytical and technical skills.

Thermal Systems: Technicians must be able to service vehicle thermal systems, starting with the ability to perform a coolant drain-and-fill and safely handle refrigerant with a 609 certification. A comprehensive understanding of the entire A/C system and its components is expected. An ideal candidate can proficiently use an A/C machine and diagnose a range of thermal system concerns, including issues with coolant systems, air conditioning performance, and HVAC systems. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS): A working knowledge of ADAS is required, beginning with a basic understanding of the features and their operation. Technicians will be expected to replace system components and perform necessary calibrations. Advanced understanding includes knowing the functionality and limitations of the complete ADAS system and the specific roles of its various sensors. Body & Glass: The role includes responsibilities related to the vehicle body, from assisting with glass removal and installation to safely replacing windshields and other glued body fixtures.
