How You'll Contribute:
The installation technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects for our clients. This position is the key field position for the bulk of the actual work that gets done in our clients buildings. The install tech needs to coordinate with project management, field superintendents and others to fully understand their role on specific projects. They interpret our drawing packages to create the basis of the finished systems. Solder and terminate connectors according to project specifications and accepted industry practices.

Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design and development of Unified Communications systems.
Provides expert level analysis of voice, video, and integration with data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites.
Plans network layouts and configures systems for user environments.
Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.

Review reports and logs for problems and identify appropriate solutions to include developing workflow for lower tier support levels
Provide primary and backup support in maintenance of Video and UC hardware and software.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 8 years' experience
Requires an IAT II Certification.
Must have a TS/SCI Clearance and ability to obtain Poly
Administration of Linux and Windows Operating systems as it relates to UC architecture.
Strong analytical, reasoning, organization, time management and problem-solving skills.
Ability to meet strict deadlines.

Role Overview: The Field Service Technician - Plumbing is responsible for performing on-site commissioning, surveys, installs, repairs, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting of metering equipment and systems. Qualifications:
3+ years of experience required in field work environment of relevant fields (utilities, telecommunication, plumbing, electrical or mechanical service work)
Post-secondary education (Plumbing/Electrical/Mechanical stream preferred)
Proficient in aspects of the pipefitting trade, including service, equipment, and meter sizing for new and existing installations.
Sound base knowledge of residential/commercial building mechanical, plumbing and electrical distribution systems

Summary:
SOC Technology Services is seeking motivated undergraduate and graduate student employees to join our team for Spring 2026. Student Support Assistants will be cross-trained to work across various help desks and technology spaces within the School of Communication (SOC). This is a hands-on position ideal for students interested in gaining experience in customer support, media equipment, and classroom technology.
Essential Functions:
* Provide on-call assistance for faculty and staff regarding classroom technology issues.
* Answer our help desk phone and troubleshoot classroom tech-related questions or errors.
* Operate basic projection system and AV equipment during classes and in the theater.
* Provide assistance to faculty using the space, ensure the food/drink policies are met, and perform opening/closing procedures of the space.
* Staff the equipment checkout desk and assist with equipment check-ins/returns.
* Perform basic equipment inspections and help transfer gear (as able).
* Assist with setup and basic operation of studio equipment.
* Provide in-room support for ongoing classes and events.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
* Part-time.
* 10 expected hours per week.
Salary Range:
* $18.00 - $19.00 per hour.
Preferred Education and Experience:
* Familiarity with classroom A/V systems, media production gear, or customer service.
* Communication and problem-solving skills.
* Willingness to learn and provide support across different environments.
