The Role
We're looking for a skilled Field Service Mechanic to join our Frederick, CO team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of backup generators, heavy equipment, and related electrical systems. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and customer service.
What You'll Do
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel/gas-powered standby generators and heavy equipment
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on generator systems
Service and repair Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), including bypass isolation and closed transition types
Conduct load bank testing, start-up, and commissioning of new installations
Troubleshoot AC/DC circuits, read wiring diagrams, and replace electrical components
Perform mechanical diagnostics (ignition systems, injection systems, valve adjustments)
Complete warranty work per manufacturer guidelines
Document work using Windows-based software, including job reports and photos
Collaborate with other technicians on complex service calls
Maintain safety standards and site compliance
What We're Looking For
Experience in generator maintenance, service, or installation
Mechanical/electrical certification or proven repair experience preferred
Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems
Ability to read technical manuals, datasheets, and schematics
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
Valid U.S. driver's license; ability to operate a service truck/van (with or without trailer)

Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
Oil & gas: 1 year (Preferred)
Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in oil gas or construction environments.
Familiarity with operating heavy machinery such as forklifts and telehandlers is preferred.
Experience working on frac sites is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Ability to kneel, squat, push/pull, reach (including overhead), grasp/squeeze and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

Wazee Crane, a division of Timken Power Systems, is currently seeking a Field Service Technician for the Broomfield, Colorado site. The role of the Field Service Technician is to troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and perform scheduled maintenance on overhead cranes and hoists. The Technician regularly works on-site at customer locations and is required to drive to different sites with some overnight and out-of-state travel. This position reports into the Crane Field Service Manager.

Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect overhead cranes and hoists
Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections
Identify issues and recommend repair solutions
Communicate with customers and internal team on repairs and safety concerns
Complete work efficiently and keep customers informed
Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports and checklists
Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as required
Basic Qualifications:

Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
