Position Summary
The retail Sales and Service Technician (SST) is a unique hybrid role for stores and is intended as a key pipeline for future career-growth within Firestone Complete Auto Care. This role is primarily responsible for serving the customer through assessing needs, recommending appropriate products and/or services, performing entry-level vehicle services, and ensuring customer satisfaction through thorough and timely completion of services.

Responsibilities
Hybrid Role

Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

**About the role:**
USP Technologies is seeking a **Field Service Technician** to join our team in the Southeast Region. The candidate can expect to primarily support a customer base within **Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana** ; however, travel to support customers in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina will be required sporadically throughout the year (i.e., 8 weeks out of the year).

**In this role you will:**
+ Travel to customer or plant sites to perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on chemical pumps, plumbing systems, and field instrumentation.
+ Inspect, test, and repair electrical circuits, instrumentation, and chemical metering systems, including reading schematics, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams.
+ Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to resolve technical issues and ensure adherence to USP standard practices.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of service performed, schedules, and any changes in project scope, using Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
+ Operate machinery such as forklifts when necessary and ensure compliance with all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
**The essential requirements of the job include:**
+ High school diploma with a minimum of 5 years' experience in field equipment service and chemical pump maintenance.
+ Strong technical skills in plumbing, electrical circuits (120/208 VAC, single and three-phase), instrumentation (flowmeters, level sensors, VFDs, RTDs, thermocouples), and electrical troubleshooting.
+ Ability to read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and BOMs.
+ Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills; capable of managing own schedule and adapting to changes in project scope.
+ Valid driver's license with a clean record and willingness to travel, including overnight stays and air travel when required.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and familiarity with online collaboration tools.

What you will do:

Coordinate work as a member of a 2-person sampling crew if needed.
Wastewater sample collection for SARS-CoV-2 or other pathogens as directed, 2 days per week between Monday and Thursday each week.
Collect 24-hour composite samples utilizing provided autosamplers and associated equipment.
Responsible for daily drop off samples at FedEx for shipping.
Field reporting and data entry required.
Able to ride in vehicle for 4 or more hours a day.
Education and Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have the ability to pass a physical examination.
Must be able to pass a drug screening and background checks.
Physical ability to carry up to 30 pounds.
Previous experience with wastewater sampling or environmental monitoring is a plus.
Must have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Location: TBD - Central Alabama working from an office in Birmingham, AL or Montgomery, AL (The work will most likely be in the Montgomery area.)
Job Site: Various Wastewater treatment facilities in the central Alabama area and possibly southeastern area.
Requirements: A valid driver's license, pass a physical examination, pass a drug screening, pass background checks, ability to carry 30 pounds, and at least have a high school diploma or its equivalent.

**Essential Functions**
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:
o Perform data collection tests to investigate the performance of large-scale RFID deployments.
