This is an urgent data center field services role requiring strong hands-on experience with optical fiber installation, testing, and troubleshooting in large data center environments.
This position is not general telecom. Candidates must have deep data center experience, including overseeing other technicians, performing QA/QC checks, monitoring utilization, and executing work directly.
Shifts - Must support nights/weekends as needed
Key Responsibilities
Data Center & Fiber Operations
Run, route, lace, label, terminate, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber
Install and troubleshoot Ethernet and fiber cabling (CAT5/6, RJ45, LC, fan-outs)
Perform optical testing using:
OTDR, Optical Power Meter, Light Source, VFL
BERT, RFC2544, Y.1564 (EtherSAM), iPerf (1G-100G)
Support 10G / 100G circuit testing, turn-up, and troubleshooting
Analyze and resolve network issues during installs, removals, and upgrades
Field Services / Oversight
Oversee and QA/QC work performed by other technicians
Interpret and execute tasks from MOPs, engineering documents, and vendor specs
Perform site audits and document findings in internal systems
Coordinate with control centers and back-office engineers for troubleshooting
Racking, Power & Hardware
Rack and stack routers, switches, servers, and transport equipment
Handle AC and DC power, including redundancy, ATS, and hot/cold aisle environments
Replace faulty hardware (routers, switches, servers, cards)
Support decommissioning and hardware removal per data destruction protocols
Break-Fix & Remote Hands
Provide break-fix support, including nights/weekends as required
Perform remote hands tasks for data center equipment installs and testing
Required Experience
5+ years working in data center operations or similar environments
5+ years hands-on experience with:
Optical fiber installation, testing, and troubleshooting
Reading and executing cut-sheets and MOPs
Rack builds, cabling, patch panels, overhead trays
Power feeds, redundancy, ATS, and cooling layouts
Experience handling live production equipment
Strong customer-facing experience in technical environments
Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of optical, IP, and telephony networks
Ability to identify telecom cable colors and equipment indicators
Comfortable working overhead racks and pulling heavy cables
Skilled with hand and power tools
Ability to work independently and supervise others

Responsible for inspection, assembly, and testing of electric cable connectors.
Job Functions/ Duties
(may be assigned other duties by management)
- Follow specific assembly instructions to meet company standards.
- Inspect and test all electric cable connectors.
- Measure and cut cable to length on cable-cutting machine.
- Bend cable around blocks and forms to shape it according to specification.
- Clamp cable in position, and follow task to complete an assembled product.
- Work effectively with all other personnel to optimize business opportunities.
- Comply with Levare Quality Assurance Policy and all requirements of the Quality Assurance Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
- Count and record quantities of material, supplies, and tools taken from yard.
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
- Personally observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material. Actively promote safety process and report any safety issues to proper channels for action.
Qualifications/Education Requirements
- Use and read basic measuring tools
- Ability to drive/operate loader and forklift
- Supervisory experience in maintenance work or remanufacturing work preferred
- Knowledge of and skills in mechanical problem diagnosis and repair work
- Knowledge of equipment types and components
- Prior experience in oil field related jobs desirable
- Knowledge of practices and procedures of the department.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of shop experience preferred
- Annual CPR / AED and Electrical Safety Training
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Continuously required to move about the facility
- Physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
- Work is mostly in non-climate controlled environment
- Continuous standing for long periods of time and capable of lifting 50 pounds from the floor to a table working height
- Occasional travel and on call required
- Exposure to shop and field elements such as noise, dust, odors and temperature variations
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection, hard hat and safety shoes while in shop environment or on job site.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
