Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

Summary

What You'll Do:
POSITION SUMMARY
As the Field Service Technician I - PGD, you will provide field service engineering in the form of managing startups, troubleshooting field issues and questions, overseeing repairs, performing site audits, and providing other on-site service, primarily for Aerzen process gas blower and compressor packages. When not in the field, support other process gas orders with inspections, design reviews, subvendor expediting and inspections, training, and other related activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform equipment startups for process gas projects. Duration can be 1 to 4 weeks or more, often in multiple trips. Startup responsibility includes ensuring equipment is properly installed (checking alignment, wiring, etc.) prior to starting, ensuring all subsystems are functioning properly, verifying operating data (pressures, temperatures, flows, vibrations, etc.), making necessary adjustments in the system to correct any performance issues, checking other system factors (for example, pipe vibrations), and other steps on a job-specific basis to obtain customer acceptance/signoff.
• If needed, visit the job site prior to startup to ensure customer readiness and proper installation.
• If needed, remain on the job site after startup for an agreed-upon run-in period.
• Keep meticulous records in the form of detailed daily reports, records of operating data, photos, and other details about the customer site, machine performance, customer discussions, etc.
• Manage existing installations by keeping in contact with job sites and conducting site visits and audits as needed. Provide sales opportunities via continuous contact with customer sites (new orders, replacement equipment, spare parts, and service).
• Interact professionally with Aerzen project management, engineering, production, and customer support personnel to provide feedback and knowledge regarding specific customers and orders. Specifically, communicating and implementing lessons learned from job site visits is a critical part of this role.
• Travel to Germany and possibly Hungary for training on machine assembly, testing, repair, and operation.
• Receive AND give training from/to internal Aerzen colleagues on machine assembly, testing, repair, and operation, as well as training on general system design and components such as seals, bearings, control valves, instruments, etc.
• When not traveling, support the Process Gas team with engineering, participation in design reviews, reviewing documents and data, assisting with incoming inspections, assisting with oversight of shop assembly work and testing, providing insight on questions, concerns, and issues, assisting with equipment specifications, and other needs that are in line with expertise.
Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent
Area of Study: Engineering
Specialized Training: Degree or training certificates specific to rotating equipment, especially in the oil and gas, refinery, petro-chemical, and/or power generation industry.
Certifications:
Experience (yrs): 5 years minimum related experience in field service, startups, troubleshooting, inspections, etc.
Software/Applications:
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, previous experience with enterprise-wide software systems and/or customer relations management software.
Ability to travel more than 50% of the time and work in Coatesville as required by business needs.
Other:
• Experience in at least one of the following in industries: oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, power generation, pharmaceutical.
• Ability to read drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, and other engineering documents.
• Strong communication skills - professional speaking and writing styles.
• Root cause analysis skills - critical thinking ability.

These technicians are essential to the ships Combat Systems department, ensuring readiness for combat operations across the fleet.
Responsibilities
As an Electronics Technician (ET) or Fire Controlman (FC), you may:
Maintain and repair radar, communication, and navigation equipment.
Operate, maintain, and repair fire control radars, mainframe computers, large screen displays, LANs, weapon control consoles, and automatic gun systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical systems used in weapons systems.
Support combat systems readiness aboard aircraft carriers, Aegis cruisers, and other surface ships.
Work Environment
ETs and FCs serve on fleet units worldwide and at shore-based repair facilities. Expect assignments aboard ships, at remote stations, and in technical repair shops. Work is highly technical, requiring precision and teamwork.
