Job Summary

As a Service Technician, you will repair and upgrade a wide range of mobile power equipment machines including compressors, generators, welders, hydraulics and engine starters.

Job Details:
This is a 1099/per call position
Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
An automotive vocational degree or five-year automotive technical experience is a must
Automotive Service and Excellence (ASE) Certifications are a plus
Prior Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) experience in the maintenance field related to the JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle) its companion trailers, and the HMMWV (High Mobility Multi Wheeled Vehicle) FoV is desirable
Previous experience in both Operator and Maintainer level instruction is highly beneficial in this role

Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.

Perform fabrication of lightweight apparatus and/or structures used in the maintenance of equipment
Interface with project management, engineers, technical personnel and other staff as needed to complete projects
Provide any additional support where needed
Perform housekeeping and maintenance activities as required

Job Qualifications
Must have related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to calculate figures and amounts
Must be able to read prints / drawings
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic & piping systems
Knowledge of disassembly, assembly, machining and fabrication methods including MIG, SMAW & TIG welding practices
Knowledge of overhead crane, lift trucks and maintenance including hoisting and rigging techniques
Frequent travel within the North American region (USA, Canada, Mexico); Possible limited international travel. Travel can, at times, have a short notice window (customer emergencies / personnel needs). Travel is typically a few days to a week; Occasional extended periods of travel are possible.
Computer skills preferred: Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook
Must have a valid driver's license
Valid passport is required

Schedule
Full-Time, 8-hour shift
Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, with 30 minutes for lunch
