The primary functions of the laborer position include but are not limited to, the setup of all dredging and dewatering equipment on site, the maintenance and support of that equipment and the project while in operation, and the demobilization of the on-site equipment once the project is complete. Key Responsibilities: * During the mobilization process, the laborer will assist in offloading the dredge, the slurry pipe, dewatering equipment, and any other support equipment necessary for the mobilization of the job. * Assist in setting the dredge into the water, cabling and assembling the machine, and fusing or bolting together the pipeline. * Assist in setting up the dewatering equipment and/or Geo-tube placement, depending on the configuration of the job site and dewatering process. * Assist in the dredging operations which include moving the dredge, checking and adding polymer as needed to the chemical injection system, taking periodic samples of the slurry, assisting in fueling, greasing, and checking all of the mechanical equipment, working the geotubes to make sure that they are dewatering properly, and any other job site tasks that are requested. * Assist the dredge operator in cleaning the cutter head, bunkering fuel, and preventive or corrective maintenance to the dredge. While all operations are ongoing, laborers will have the capabilities to learn other positions such as dredge operator or equipment operator to improve their skills which will lead to promotions in positions. * Once dredging operations are complete, the laborers will assist in cleaning all equipment, disassembling all equipment, loading all equipment, and doing final clean ups to restore the customer site. Requirements: * Must have some experience and/or a background in working outside in an upland or marine construction style environment. (Mining, dredging, drilling, earthworks/excavation, land clearing, offshore, under or above ground utility, heavy civil, etc.). * Must be able to work in extreme heat, extreme cold, and on the water. at Pilgrim's Pilgrim's Enterprise, AL Hatchery - Laborer Hours: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri - 5:00am-4:00pm Job Duties/Physical Requirements/Dexterity: Hatchery Laborer's are required to wash floats, transport hatcher trays, sanitize separator, sanitize hatcher, set eggs, transfer eggs, and load chicks onto conveyor. Washing floats (buggy) is accomplished by removing hatcher trays from the float, over turning the float to remove debris and rinsing with high pressure hose. The separator is sanitized using a foaming system with sodium hypochlorite and then rinsed with a high pressure hose. Sanitizing the hatcher requires removing fans from the inside of the hatcher, sweeping the floor to remove excess debris, then foaming with sodium hypochlorite and rinsing with a high pressure hose. Setting requires team members to place eggs into the incubators by lifting 10 pound egg trays and placing them into stacked buggies, the eggs are placed from floor level to shoulder level. When transferring eggs, buggies on casters loaded with eggs are pushed to the vaccination table, each individual tray is placed on the table, and then placed back onto the buggy which is then rolled to the hatcher. The team member loads chicks onto the belt by removing chick trays from buggy and placing tray onto conveyor. Physical Requirements: Continuous standing, walking, bending, and reaching Dexterity: Some jobs require pinch grip, back extension/flexion, and/or should extension/flexion. Equipment/Tools/PPE Hearing protection is required in posted areas, slip resistant shoes are required in all areas, steel toe shoes are required during set and transfer, and cotton gloves are optional to be used as needed by team member.
