You will have the opportunity to: * Support Kalispell Lumber by maximizing equipment reliability and operational excellence by working with a team of filers, millwrights, electricians, and operators. * Support Kalispell Lumber with setup and maintenance of the planer; setting up heads and helping the planer feeder as needed to attain maximum throughput. * Obtain working knowledge of satellite, carbide, basic benching procedures, internal quality control and alignment procedures. * Obtain expertise in all aspects of saw maintenance, including carbide, basic benching procedures, internal quality control, grinding/benching round and band saws, saw changes, preventative maintenance, and machine center alignment procedures. * Implement process changes in a rapid-changing work environment to ensure maximum quality lumber production. * Complete required paperwork utilizing preventative maintenance software program associated with repairing saws/equipment, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. * Demonstrate leadership in mill safety processes and strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. * High School Diploma or equivalent required * Metal working skills and machine shop skills preferred * Previous saw filing experience is strongly preferred * Related vocational courses preferred * Candidate must be able to provide personal hand tools of the trade. It is a general requirement that at least one year be spent at any current grade level before advancement to next level. Time-in-grade requirements for other advancements may occasionally be waived by Maintenance Management for extraordinary performance or technical achievement.
