Technical Operator Work Schedule: Two shifts available: 10:00 pm - 6:30 am Sunday-Thursday OR 6:00 am - 4:30 pm Thursday-Sunday. Training for both shifts will be 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday-Friday for 2-3 months. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines used in the production of the company's product. Works from process sheets or written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks. Checks and inspects operation against predetermined tolerances. An Ingot Operator's primary duties are to produce custom ceramic ingots through a variety of processing tasks that increase in complexity as experience and process knowledge is gained through mentorship and on the job training. The operator will interact with supervisory personnel and engineers to ensure that processes are performed in accordance with written and verbal instructions. Communication of processing parameters, non-standard observations and measurement results are essential for the success of the Ingot Operator and the operation. The basic processing operations are listed below, with the Ingot Operator performing one or more of the following: Ingot Forming Ingot Firing Ingot Diameter Lathing Ingot Length Lathing Ingot Inspection Ingot Packaging The Ingot Operator will maintain a clean, organized work area to minimize contamination potential. The operator will clean all equipment and the entire area prior to the end of each shift. Equipment used includes isostatic presses, periodic kilns, lathes, and various measurement devices. QUALIFICATIONS Must have 1 year of manufacturing experience in a similar environment Must have basic computer skills Must have experience with hand tools, and other basic warehouse equipment ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Will run and monitor multiple plastic injection molding machines to ensure consistent, high-quality production. Will adjust machine settings, cycle times, and parameters to maintain efficiency and minimize downtime. May identify and resolve common issues such as part defects, mold jams, or equipment malfunctions to keep production running smoothly. Will assist maintenance and process technicians during machine start-up and shut-down procedures, ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Support mold changeovers by preparing equipment, verifying correct mold installation, and confirming proper alignment and setup before restarting production. Must work collaboratively to ensure quick and accurate transitions between product runs. Will inspect parts during production for quality, consistency, and conformance to specifications. Will perform visual checks and use measuring tools as required. Will accurately record production data, quality results, and any process adjustments in tracking systems or production logs to maintain traceability and meet audit requirements. Will adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE. Will keep workstations organized and free from hazards by regularly cleaning machines, tools, and surrounding areas. Will report unsafe conditions or equipment concerns to supervisors immediately to help maintain a safe workplace. Must demonstrate flexibility and teamwork by supporting additional tasks or departments when needed. You may assist with material handling, packaging, labeling, or supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and quality.
