Job Description The Rear Load Residential Helper is responsible for assisting the refuse truck on pre-assigned and special routes to pick up garbage, yard waste, or recycling. When not assigned to a refuse truck, the Helper will be assigned tasks at the facility consisting of manual labor. Ensure garbage and recyclables at residences are picked up and transferred properly. Assist drivers in safely backing up the truck by directing the driver from the ground. Cleans behind the compactor blade with a shovel and hoe when directed. Sprays and cleans the hopper and truck at the end of each shift or as needed utilizing proper lock out/tag out procedures. This position may require entering and exiting the truck up to 700 times daily. Assists other routes as needed to complete daily work. Meet or exceed Company Objectives in all individual sales goals. Participate in store maintenance per the current visual guidelines including: proper merchandising, signage and store cleanliness. Maintain a professional appearance consistent with Dress Code Policy. Additional Principal Duties and Responsibilities Protect Company assets within guidelines of LIDS Retail policies. Participate in restocking and resetting of merchandise. Support and adhere to all LIDS Retail policies, procedures and guidelines. Other duties as assigned. Job Required Knowledge & Skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate verbally in a clear and professional manner. Ability to read and operate a computer. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb a ladder and work with hands overhead. Standing required for up to 100% of the work time.
