    The National Security Policy Center is seeking a graduate student (PhD student preferred) to serve as our summer internship advisor. The NSPC hosts 4-5 summer interns from across Grounds who are interested in research and national security. They are tasked with completing a literature review as a team and will be responsible for writing individual white papers to present at the end of the summer program. During the program, the students will participate in professional development workshops on library instruction, writing for policy professionals, the Department of Defense, national security careers, the clearance process, and writing a federal resume. They will also make a day trip to DC to do a site visit with one of our national security partners. This position is part time (10 hours per week) from March 31-May 23. During this period the advisor is responsible for planning and compiling the summer schedule, including confirming workshop dates and speakers, and planning the day trip to DC. This position is full time (40 hours per week) from May 26-July 18. The internship is an 8-week, in person commitment and will be held at our offices at 134 10th Street, NW. The advisor is expected to be on site for regular business hours from May 26-July 18 to direct students through their research process and supervise the program. The internship advisor will be able to work on their independent research in conjunction with the program. The pay for this role is $28 per hour - with a total earned of $2,240 from March 31 to May 23 and $8,960 from May 26-July 18.
