RETS Associates, on behalf of our client, a real estate private equity firm located in San Francisco's Financial District, is seeking an Investment Associate to join their team in a cradle to grave Investments role. The firm invests across asset classes and is mostly focused in and around the Bay Area, and other core west coast markets. They have recently raised their 3rd fund and prepared to be very active in the coming months and years. The Associate will work on roughly 80% acquisitions-related activities including complex financial modeling, due diligence, investment memo and presentations, and communicating with lenders and investors. This position will be part of a high-performing Investments team in an entrepreneurial environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree with a proven track record of academic achievement. Degrees with concentration in Finance, Accounting and/or Economics a plus.
4-6 years of experience within a real estate investment, development, lending, brokerage, or real estate investment banking required.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills in ARGUS and Excel.
Familiarity with valuation concepts including discounted cash flow, internal rate of return, levered returns vs unlevered returns.
Ability to grow into a market-facing role.

To qualify for the role, you must have

Existing Series 7 and/or 79 plus Series 63 securities licenses (in good standing) is a plus.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including the ability to exercise sound independent judgment.
Strong working knowledge of Excel to develop financial models, knowledge of pivot tables and using excel for in-depth modeling.
Strong communication skills
Efficient use of research databases, and technical ability to analyze data.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization.
You must either reside in or be in a commutable distance to your office location for this position.
The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
