Job Duties:
* Tax Methodology
* Applies general understanding of knowledge and application of standards to effectively and efficiently deliver quality tax services
Tax Compliance
Ensures both that (a) clients comply with all applicable authorities, while at the same time minimizing their tax and reporting burdens, and (b) self and client service teams comply with all Firm policies, standards, and the BDO Tax Quality Manual ("TQM")
Participates in the preparation, filing and completion of voluntary disclosure agreements for sales and use tax, income tax and unclaimed property
Drafts tax memoranda, and other documents on various tax issues
Assists in drafting responses to notices from state taxing authorities
Prepares models for tax and unclaimed property exposure analysis
Participates in the audit defense of client returns and tax positions
Ensures all data needed to comply with filing requirements is obtained and identifies missing items needed to prepare assigned tax returns
Monitors current tax law changes and applies appropriately to the preparation of assigned tax returns
Manages collection and retention of all appropriate workpapers for assigned clients

* Completes basic research on federal and state tax issues
Tax Consulting
Partners with experienced SALT tax professionals to learn the basics of state tax planning
Participates in client meetings with experienced tax professionals, as appropriate
Establishes relationships with Core Tax Services and other Specialized Tax Services client service professionals

* Develops an in-depth understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding one or more areas of taxation

The Invoice to Cash (I2C) FinanceInternship position can support numerous operating companies within Medical Devices and the Pharmaceutical Sectors. This position is located in Florida (Tampa) with an alternate location upon approval.
The Internship Program is a full time 10 week program focused on providing college students with practical business experience. It allows participants to develop leadership skills, broaden their understanding of the concepts learned in school and "get a taste of the real world" before they are fully committed to it. The Intern program is one of the primary feeders for entrance into Johnson & Johnson's Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP). The FLDP program is a 30-month program designed specifically to prepare and develop future generations of business leaders within the accounting & finance organization. FLDP participants will develop critical leadership & technical skills through rotational assignments at J&J business units, in-depth training, & ongoing coaching and feedback.
Internship program participant role includes credit and collections, financial accounting and analysis, SOX, and Compliance support. Specific responsibilities may include:
Proactively manage assigned accounts through the invoice to cash cycle to include collections, credit line administration and billing dispute identification and resolution
Serve as a point of contact for inquiries, requests and issues related to accounts receivable for an assigned portfolio of customers
Perform customer reviews to ensure that accounts remain within the assigned credit limits as well as assess and mitigates financial risk and escalate to Sr. Financial Analyst if needed.
Motivate desired customer payment behavior through timely and insightful contact with customers. Employ collection technique and negotiation to maximize cash flow and create a favorable financial relationship and customer experience.
Collaborate internally with Sales, Supply Chain, etc. to respond to customer related inquiries. Participate in negotiations and contribute to cross-functional, end-to-end solutions to improve cashflow and the customer experience

Qualifications
Current enrollment in an accredited College/University is required.

Key Responsibilities
* Attend and engage in coaching and training led by the leadership team and established advisors.
* Generate client prospects by attending local tradeshows and events, hosting seminars, joining networking groups, utilizing online marketing venues, and asking for referrals.
* Develop and execute a marketing plan to attract and engage target audiences that will attract client prospects to build your practice.
* Schedule and conduct financial planning and advice meetings with clients and client prospects.
* Build deep, meaningful relationships with clients and develop a service model to provide solutions that support their financial goals.
* Achieve or exceed program standards; receive additional compensation opportunities and recognition tied to your results.
* Build a book of business as a stand-alone Ameriprise Financial advisor.
* If desired, explore teaming opportunities with seasoned financial advisors as you achieve program standards and advance in your training curriculum.
* Follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when serving clients and prospects and performing all
work-related activities.
Required Qualifications
* 3+ years of work experience with a proven track record of success.
* Have a network of personal and professional contacts within the local area that you may engage for referrals.
* Showcase a background in building strong relationships and delivering superior client service.
* Cannot have been a financial advisor soliciting securities-based business or have a securities-based book of clients in the past 8-10 years.
* Legally authorized to work in the U.S. and does not now or in the future require sponsorship for visa status.
* Ability to obtain required licenses within 150 days of hire:
o FINRA Series 7 (Obtaining the Series 7 may include passing the Securities Industry Essentials exam plus the Series 7 top-off exam)
o State Securities (Series 63 or Series 66)
o State IAR (Series 65 or Series 66)
o State Life, Health Insurance and Variable Products lines
