Job Summary:
As a Finance intern at Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation (Cat Financial), you will be assigned to a specific department and given at least one project to work on for the duration of the internship. Internship Program Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled full-time in a 4-year university/college in one of the following degree programs:

• Must be able to relocate to indicated work location for the duration of the internship and complete daily work commute using reliable transportation.

About Our Program
The Comptroller of the Treasury's Audit Internship Program is a 10-week paid educational and experiential learning opportunity offering undergraduate students a chance to witness and participate in the audit operations of the office. Interns will spend the summer building skills through their assignment to an active audit, audit-specific training, and professional development training. Interns will also have opportunities to build relationships with each other through shared experiences, such as touring the State Capitol and the Tennessee State Museum.
Intern responsibilities may include learning to examine and review records, reports, financial statements, and management practices for state and local government entities and other organizations receiving public funds. Interns may have the opportunity to evaluate the following: fairness of financial statement presentation, the adequacy of internal controls, the efficiency and effectiveness of an entity's operations and systems, and compliance with laws, regulations, contracts, and grant agreements.
Location
Financial audit internship opportunities are based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Depending on the audit assignment, interns may have the opportunity for limited travel during the summer. Typical travel opportunities are in the Nashville area; however, some may allow for travel to other parts of Tennessee.

We are looking for rising juniors, seniors, or graduate accounting students who are interested in applying what they've learned in the classroom to governmental auditing. To be considered for the internship program, candidates should have successfully completed at least 6 hours of Accounting coursework. Successful interns are those who are adaptable, able to think critically, work well both individually and as part of a team, and are willing to learn and grow. Candidates should exhibit interpersonal and communication skills to communicate tactfully with auditees, coworkers, and others. Serve as support for cross-departmental initiatives involving coordination with other sales / support areas within the bank.
Coordination and Development of the Division's annual strategic plan and operating budget
Coordinate and facilitate ongoing planning and budget development activities within the Division.
Perform detailed analysis of budgets and plans to ensure both accuracy and consistency with the corporate plan as well as initiating follow-up with appropriate levels of management.
Prepare and deliver the Division's plan and budget presentations to the division leaders and Operations/IT CFO.
Skills and Qualifications:
BA Degree in Accounting or Finance required, MBA preferred
5 or more years of relevant experience including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and accounting at a corporate-wide or divisional level
Strong financial systems experience (e.g. Hyperion, SAP, Axiom, Microsoft Excel) required
Significant exposure to banking including a strong understanding of line of business areas along with operations/information technology.
Strong knowledge of financial valuation techniques
Broad based GAAP knowledge
Strong, communication, organizational, analytical and decision-making skills required
