PMS 450 – The Virginia Class Acquisition Program Office is responsible for the acquisition of New Construction Submarines and for identifying, assembling, managing, directing, and coordinating the resources required for the R&D, design, construction, Test and Evaluation (T&E), Live Fire Test and Evaluation (LFT&E), and Fleet introduction of the U.S. Navy’s newest class of nuclear attack submarines. The program is a major defense acquisition program with a total life cycle cost of approximately $336B. Required Education and Experience: A current or active DoD Secret security clearance. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field. A candidate with three or more years’ experience directly supporting a Navy customer in a business or financial capacity will be considered in lieu of a degree. Two to four year’s work experience within DoD and/or the Armed Services. Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint Experience working in a Navy environment, specifically within Team Submarine or submarines in general. Knowledge of DoD policies, NAVSEA/Team Submarine policies and procedures. Competencies Knowledge of the Navy’s Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution processes and policies. One year of experience supporting a DoD customer as a financial analyst. Familiarity with rules governing the different Navy Appropriations. Knowledge of O&M, N accounts is a desired bonus.
