Full-time Description
SUMMARY: Liaison between partners, directors, professional staff, and clients; responsible for managing multiple client engagements simultaneously by scheduling, staffing, and coordinating engagement workflow; provides training and feedback to team members and develops relationships to generate new business for the firm by performing the following duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Service & Technical
Exhibits the technical knowledge and ability to manage and oversee fieldwork on assigned engagements in an organized and efficient manner including, but not limited to, oversight and review of engagement scheduling, engagement planning, timeline and budget monitoring, timely review of work papers, timely closing of engagement binder, timely completion of staff evaluations, and other similar responsibilities.
Stays up-to-date on new accounting pronouncements/standards and is able to effectively communicate how those changes will impact the Firm's clients.
Manages, plans and organizes audits, communicates with clients to conduct fieldwork at client sites to gather and review documentation necessary to complete the engagement.
Performs accounting research to solve issues that arise during the course of audit or compliance engagements.
Ensures engagement procedures comply with professional requirements and identifies engagement efficiencies.
Demonstrates ownership and responsibility of engagements and tasks assigned including the proactive communication of status, issues, and other concerns with the engagement director or partner in an organized, accurate and timely manner.
Manages deadlines and internal and external expectations in a timely and organized manner.
Meets with client contact on questions, recommendations, and findings.
Prepares workpapers, writes audit reports, management letters, and other client deliverables.
Maintains knowledge of accounting and audit requirements, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, staying abreast of any changes.
Maintains the required CPE for Firm and licensing standards.
To accommodate needs of clients, 20-30% time may be spent traveling, with 10-15% being overnight travel.
Client Relationships & Development
Participates in proposal process, client presentations, board presentations, firm marketing initiatives, and other similar functions.
Develops an understanding of the service capabilities and offerings of the Firm, recognizing opportunities to provide additional services to new or existing clients.
Establishes and maintains long-term working relationships with clients.
Leadership & Administration
Demonstrates appropriate leadership skills including, but not limited to, effective and timely engagement oversight, timely and accurate communications with Seniors and Staff as well as Senior Managers, Directors, and Partners timely and accurate identification of technical issues, timely and appropriate identification of any staff issues and/or concerns, timely client communications regarding open items, and other similar items.
Monitors workload to meet billable hour and realization expectations and to ensure efficient scheduling of staff.
Mentors and develops staff, including participation in the recruitment and retention of professional staff.

Education and/or Experience:

After training, you will be expected to recommend and sell our financial products and other services to customers. While growth is always important, so is collecting and lending in a responsible way. You'll be required to adhere to the Company's policies, procedures and all applicable federal and state regulations. You must enter customer and transaction information accurately into the point of sales system and create and maintain accurate customer files with all required documentation. Perform and document collection calls and any other approved collection activities. You'll also be responsible to ensure your staff is lending and collecting in a responsible manner that adheres to the Company's policies.
This position requires standing for long periods of time, lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors as needed. Ability to operate a computer and point of sale system, calculator, copy machine and utilize employers filing system. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming customer environment, which includes vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms and windows with provided cleaning supplies.

The Financial Controller plans, directs, reviews and coordinates through subordinates the Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Collections, Inventory Control and Count Team activities of the property. Responsible for maintaining all accounting records in accordance with Harrah's retention policies and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all submissions to the regulators, internal auditors, and external auditors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direction in the overall operation of assigned departments to ensure the most efficient and profitable operation and the maintenance of high standards of quality and service.
Establish and administer procedures pertaining to the proper coordination of all financial activities with special emphasis on guest relations, internal controls and security of company funds.
Supervise and direct the day-to-day operations of areas of responsibility through assigned department managers and supervisors.
Directing the timely preparation and interpretation of financial information for the property including financial statements, budgets, forecasts, daily financial information, and other financial data after obtaining input from operations management as required.
Responsible for fulfilling all financial reporting requirements at the assigned property.
Oversees the daily audits of the Cage, Slot, F&B departments, the Daily Operating Reports, Racing, and building of the Gaming Revenue Summary.
Ensure the accurate and timely audit of revenues generated by the Slot, Cage, F&B, Racing, and property outlets.
Reviews month-end journal entries and prepares balance sheet account reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with existing and established company policies and procedures pertaining to financial and control areas.
Establish and maintain the necessary business controls required to safeguard the property assets and to safeguard its integrity utilizing company guidelines.
Review all reports and statements prepared for the property and ensure that all deadlines are met.
Coordinate with operations management at all levels to respond to needs for systems, reports, and related items, to assure efficient utilization of manpower and facilities.
Plan, develop and implement revised procedures to improve the efficiency and profitability of assigned areas.
Ensure the merit program is properly administered in the departments supervised, and that periodic performance reviews are prepared for all assigned employees.
Coordinate, improve and recommend training programs, assure effective implementation of training programs.
Responsible for employee satisfaction in all assigned departments, working closely with Human Resources and taking corrective action as needed to maintain good morale.
Monitor financial performance of assigned departments against planned performance, taking action to improve performance where necessary.
Maintain an updated knowledge of Gaming Laws/Regulations applicable to areas of responsibility.
Establish and maintain effective channels of communications upward, downward and laterally.
Act as liaison between property and Internal Audit, External Audit and Regulatory Agencies.
Ensure that all assigned departments are staffed with competent personnel who (a) are delegated authority, (b) are compensated commensurate with ability and responsibility, (c) are provided with well defined and understood lines of authority and (d) are continually being developed for advancement.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Conduct self always in a manner that reflects credit on property and encourage others to do the same.
May act as Managerial Representative on Premises.
May conduct fund exchanges for patrons during an emergency situation or as deemed necessary by management.
