Job Description:
Overview
ALANTRA is seeking to hire an Investment Banking Associate to help support it's Industrials M&A and capital raising advisory business. The position will be located onsite in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience with the ability to immediately and meaningfully impact the team, while also engaging thoughtfully with Alantra's training and onboarding practices. The Associate will have the opportunity to consistently work directly with Alantra's U.S. Managing Directors and Partners.

Responsibilities
Develop and author pitch materials
Prepare client presentations and deal documents, including but not limited to teasers, confidential information memoranda, and management presentations
Conduct extensive financial and valuation analyses
Build advanced financial models that help establish suitable capital structures, financial covenants, and sensitivity to key variables
Produce comprehensive industry and company-specific research
Develop marketing strategies, conduct buyer outreach and target approach
Manage due diligence and provide transaction support
Support transaction negotiations
Participate in the recruitment, development, training, and mentoring of Analysts and junior resources

Requirements:
Qualifications / Requirements
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in investment banking required
Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred. Focus in business, finance, accounting or similar preferred.
Strong knowledge of M&A and capital raising with the ability to apply skills creatively to a diverse set of clients' needs
Solid finance/accounting knowledge; ability to analyze and value businesses
Experience in reviewing analysts' work models, valuations, and training; mentoring and pitch presentations
Sound judgment, particularly in valuation matters; strong analytic skills, specifically DCF's and LBO's, and the ability to talk through previous deals comprehensively
Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Excellent analytical, creative, and strategic thinking skills
Team player mentality combined with the ability to work independently

Start Date: Immediate
Base compensation band: $130,000 (Min) - $180,000 (Max). This role is also eligible for an annual bonus in addition to the base salary. Actual starting pay may be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, market rate, the qualified pool of candidates, internal compensation, candidate experience, and budgetary constraints.

The Team

We are currently seeking an experienced Associate to join our Healthcare Investment Banking practice in New York. The day-to-day responsibilities of an Associate include: financial analysis and modeling, managing a team, preparing client presentations and interacting with senior bankers and clients.
Depth & Scope:
* Works within a deal team under the overall direction of a senior team member
* Researches and analyzes clients' financial situations, industry and market data, and mergers and acquisition opportunities
* Values private and public companies
* Performs complex financial and M&A modeling
* Prepares external client proposals and internal underwriting memos
* Prepares client presentations based upon the above
* Provides structure, transactional and marketing support at a professional and subject matter expert level to support senior team members as required
* Recommends and implements solutions, as well as providing advanced analysis or specialized work requiring specialized/advanced knowledge for own area of responsibility
* Keeps fully informed on market data, economic information and key industry developments as well as regulatory standards at all times to assist in maximizing profitability through sound and well-informed decisions
* Develops and maintain contacts with market participants
* Works closely with/oversees junior colleagues to ensure accuracy
* Establishes an environment that promotes respect for the individual employee and adheres to the policies and guidelines of the Bank
* Maintains confidentiality of client information
* Direct, train and develop staff to enable them to meet challenges, department objectives and achieve full potential

Qualifications:
Candidates must have a strong background in investment banking underpinned by solid quantitative and analytical skills. He or she should be able to think creatively about a range of strategic issues confronting the firm's clients and have an exceptional grasp on accounting, valuation, finance, and business strategy. Specific qualifications include:
* Bachelors' degree from a leading university
* 2+ years working in investment banking with significant healthcare transaction experience - public market transactions a plus
* Ability to comfortably interact with senior bankers and clients in a professional setting
* Highly organized, detail oriented and proactive able to thrive in a team environment
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
* Strong intellectual curiosity
* High levels of ethics, integrity and judgment

Our Healthcare Life Sciences team is actively looking for an experienced Sr. Associate or VP/Director for our New York office. The candidate will be working closely with senior members of the Healthcare Group to prepare valuations, prepare analyses and participate in due diligence and drafting sessions for public offerings.
