Reports to: Vice President of Business Services Summary The Business Services Associate position is a full-time, benefitted position. This individual supports the Williston State College business office with student finance, cashiering, human resources, and general business office functions. The person in this position ensures all business office functions are processed in a timely and accurate manner while providing services to faculty, staff, and students. Responsibilities Student Finance- Accounts Receivable and Cashiering * Assist with creating student billing * Tuition and fees rollover * Student waivers * Meal plan maintenance * Dual-credit and non-enrolled student billing * Refunds, late fees, and credit for prior learning * Collections on Accounts Receivable * Process payments on account from students and communicate balances due * Communicate with students regarding past due accounts to achieve collection * 3rd party billing- government entities, high schools, employers, banks, etc. * Assist students in setting up payment plans * Cashiering * Process other department receipts * Balance cash tills and prepare deposit record * Other duties as assigned Human Resources Support * Works in conjunction with HR to ensure new employee hiring requirements are complete. * Assists with the criminal history record check process for hires, ensures compliance with appropriate WSC and NDUS policies, and maintains records ensuring the security of the results. * Assists in HR annual reporting * Assists with the job opening/application process, online recruitment system, application files, applicant communications, etc. * Assist with adjunct and add pay process * Assists in issuing offer letters for faculty and staff hired during the academic year and the annual review and contract process for faculty, staff, and athletic coaches. * Support HR in maintaining accurate records in the HCM and paper files. General Business Office Support * Support the general operations of the business office by receiving students, staff, faculty, and visitors and guiding them to the appropriate business office contact * Distribute the daily mail to departments * Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills working with employees, students, and the public * Well-developed skills with various computer software programs (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Internet, etc.) * Good organizational skills, analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to attend to details * Reliable and flexibility to handle unanticipated schedule changes and competing priorities * Able to maintain confidentiality Minimum Qualifications * Associate's Degree in directly related field (Business, Human Resources, Accounting, etc.) OR a combination of post-secondary education and work experience in directly related field Preferred Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree * Business office experience * PeopleSoft HCM experience SALARY: $42,000-$47,000 based on experience plus excellent benefit package. Reviews insurance denials and provides an explanation for the denial to the patient. Reviews payment plan guidelines and assists in setting up payment arrangements. Determines if patient is eligible for payment assistance programs and assists in the application process, if applicable. Educates patients regarding insurance concepts, such as what copayments are, what services are covered, effective dates of coverage, when a referral is needed and the effect on insurance, how to obtain a valid referral and resubmit the claim, and how effective dates of coverage influence insurance payments. May assist patient in filling out medical assistance program paperwork, as well as referrals to Medicaid or other insurance aid or disability programs. Frequently advises uninsured patients on outstanding medical costs associated with procedures performed in a clinic setting and establishes a payment plan. Interacts with patients in-person and must be able to empathize with them while also diffusing strong emotions. Calculates and provides cost estimates for medical procedures, including the patient's anticipated share. Advises on and collects prepayments for services not covered by insurance. May perform guest service duties, as needed. Other duties as assigned. Computer skills sufficient to operate on-line systems and complex software with advanced functionality. Oral and written communication skills sufficient to interpret and apply policies and procedures for clarification and problem resolution. Knowledge of third party payers and basic bookkeeping or accounting principles is required. Requires a thorough understanding of insurance products and the ability to accurately read an EOB to determine what adjustments have been made, what payments have been received, and calculate pending balances. **Qualifications** High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Post-secondary education preferred. Position Levels There are two levels of Relationship Banker, depending on banking experience including client service, deposit, and lending experience. Bankers must demonstrate completion of required training programs, licensing or specialized training, and acceptable performance to goals to be considered for further advancement. Licensing or registrations must be maintained current and in good standing in accordance with program guidelines. Positions may be based at a specific banking center or be a “Market” position that supports all banking centers in a defined market. Relationship Banker Demonstrates ability to handle all transactions, servicing needs and inquiries upon completion of required training. Must achieve account opening goals, partner referrals, lending and credit card goals along with completing quality Client Financial Profiles. Qualifications and Education Requirements High School diploma or GED Equivalent Minimum one year relationship-based client consultation and/or consultative sales experience (banking industry a plus) Eligible to register with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) or currently NMLS registered. Relationship Banker II Experienced bankers who have successfully completed the requirements of a Relationship Banker, including all new hire training and the Relationship Banker Learning Path within defined timeframes, or bankers with existing experience in a similar role at another financial institution, including NMLS registered. Demonstrates consultative sales skills and strong service levels to build and deepen client relationships. Consistently meets or exceeds account opening and lending goals, credit card goals, partner referrals, and quality Client Financial Profiles. May manage an assigned client portfolio to handle all consumer banking relationship needs. Encouraged to participate in their community through service in a Community Organization, Not-for-Profit volunteer, Business-Related Networking groups, or similar organizations. Completes Relationship Banker Development Program to demonstrate advanced proficiency in role.
