Lawrence M. Raffone has served as our President and Chief Executive Officer and as a director since January 2015, and previously served as our President from November 2012 through December 2014. Prior to November 2012, Mr. Raffone held the position of Executive Vice President, Distribution and Institutional Services from January 2001 until November 2012. Prior to joining us, Mr. Raffone served as the Executive Vice President of Fidelity Investments Institutional Brokerage Group, a division of Fidelity Investments. Mr. Raffone received an MBA from Babson College and a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Bryant University.

From Financial Engines’ inception in 1996, Chris has championed a personalized, rigorous approach to investment management and a strong commitment to a fiduciary standard of care. Working closely with Nobel laureate and Financial Engines founder William F. Sharpe, Chris built and led a team of experts in finance, economics, and mathematics who developed the groundbreaking financial methodology that underlies the Financial Engines’ Online Advice and Professional Management services. These innovations have greatly expanded the access to high quality, objective advice to help millions of Americans achieve their financial goals. Today Chris' team is responsible for investment analysis, financial research and development, portfolio management, data science and engineering for the millions of people who use our services.Well known in financial circles, Chris is frequently featured in articles from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, BusinessWeek, Newsweek, Fortune, Forbes, and other national and regional publications. Additionally, Chris is a well-respected and strong advocate for investor rights with policymakers and regulators in Washington, DC. He is also the author of the book The Intelligent Portfolio: Practical Wisdom on Personal Investing from Financial Engines.Prior to joining Financial Engines as the firm’s third employee, Chris spent six years as a consultant for Cornerstone Research, an economic and financial consulting firm specializing in corporate litigation.Chris received master’s degrees in Business Technology and Engineering-Economic Systems, and a bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Economics, all from Stanford University.

Kelly S. O’Donnell has served as our Executive Vice President, Business Operations and Corporate Marketing and Chief Risk Officer since May 2016, as our Executive Vice President, Business Operations and Corporate Marketing since March 2015, and as Executive Vice President, Corporate and Institutional Marketing from September 2014 to March 2015. Ms. O’Donnell previously served as our Executive Vice President of Marketing from January 2013 to September 2014 and as our Vice President of Marketing from July 2007 to January 2013. From June 2003 to June 2007, she held positions in marketing, customer acquisition and retention. Prior to joining us, she was Director of Consulting and an analyst for Cerulli Associates from June 1998 to June 2003. Ms. O’Donnell was also a litigation assistant at A. G. Edwards & Sons from May 1996 to July 1997 and a manager and associate at Coopers & Lybrand from August 1989 to May 1996. Ms. O’Donnell received a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Missouri.
