SUMMARY:
Under direction of the Operations Supervisor and COO or designee, repairs and maintains equipment, facilities and grounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks to repair and maintain buildings, grounds and equipment (e.g., replaces glass, roofs, furniture, equipment, installs and repairs appliances, plumbing, minor electrical systems, performs minor remodeling, etc.).
Follows plant safety requirements regarding asbestos management, pedestrian, occupant and vehicle safety.
Performs scheduled preventive maintenance for buildings and equipment.
Conducts designated energy conservation and management procedures.
Maintains accurate maintenance and mechanical records.
Assists in providing custodial supply requests for buildings.
Maintains accurate inventory of custodial and maintenance supplies.
Attends training sessions as scheduled for implementing maintenance and repair procedures.
Available for emergency repairs when requested.
Performs other duties as assigned by the COO or Administrative Designee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Training and/or experience which evidences a thorough knowledge of equipment, facility/ grounds maintenance and repair; the ability to prepare and interpret instructions/directions.
Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver license.
Must pass criminal background check

DESCRIPTION:
Work on an "as needed" basis as a substitute maintenance worker by providing preventative and service maintenance related to building and grounds; operate vehicles and equipment as needed; represent the Wooster City School District in a favorable image at all times. QUALIFICATIONS: A current, valid Class D Operators Drivers License is required.
RATE:
$15.50 per hour

Facilities Repair Worker Advanced

The Facilities RepairWorker-Advanced is responsible for facility maintenance which includes preventive maintenance and minor repair of equipment and building components (i.e. walls, flooring, ceilings, doors, windows, and furnishings) and general grounds maintenance (i.e. snow plowing, landscaping, and lawn care). The position provides supervision and training of residents in mechanical maintenance and repair work assignments.
This position requires the ability to climb and work from ladders, scaffolding or hydraulic lifts. Also, the ability to work under unpleasant conditions such as dirty and dusty areas, extreme cold/heat and small or confined spaces. Moderate to heavy lifting will be required.
The Facilities RepairWorker-Advanced will be required to attend in-service and trainings and be available to respond to emergency call-ins when the need arises.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 03-12 with a starting pay of $23.69/hour. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensations Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code. A twelve-month probationary period is required.

Job Details

Qualifications
Minimally Qualified Applicants should have:
* Knowledge of Building construction/repair concepts/techniques
* Knowledge of Mechanical repair and maintenance principles
* Knowledge of Janitorial and cleaning techniques
* Knowledge of Grounds keeping and landscaping methods and procedures
* Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment
