What Does A Fire Alarm Technician Do At Trillium Staffing Solutions

* Installation, troubleshooting and repair of complex networked fire alarm/mass notification systems with limited or no supervision
* Assisting our Construction Fire Alarm Division in troubleshooting, inspecting and testing large scale networked fire alarm/mass notification systems for extended periods of time
* May require some overtime hours at night, on weekends and at a moment's notice for emergency calls
* Technician will be cross trained on sprinkler and have the ability to perform minor sprinkler repair and inspection

* Minimum of five years experience working fire alarm systems
* High school or GED
* Extensive knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, Fire Alarm System Theory, OSHA Requirements, and Industry Standards for Fire Alarm systems installation
* Experience with a variety of system manufacturers including Honeywell (Notifier, Fire
* Lite, Silent Knight, Gamewell
* FCI); UTC (EST); Siemens
* Ability to perform calculations including: Battery, NAC panel and system standby
* Troubleshooting skills including, researching on line, system manuals to resolve problems
* Experience with conduit bending, understanding of blue prints and wiring schematics and layout of system installations
* Prior military a plus

What Does A Fire Alarm Technician Do At Mark III Construction

* Install, maintain, or troubleshoot/repair alarm devices and related equipment following blueprints or electrical layouts and building plans.
* Test and repair circuits and sensors following wiring and system specifications.
* Inspect equipment, structures of materials to identify problem causes.
* Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details.
* Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals and project guides to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
* Schedule and maintain a routine schedule, update PMs and DMs frequently with pictures, emails, and forms

* Inspects electrical / fire alarm / security systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
* Coordinates with assigned Project Manager and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
* Diagnoses causes of electrical problems or failures in assigned systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair

What Does A Fire Alarm Technician Do At Johnson Controls

* Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
* Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
* Read blueprints, building and electrical plans in order to complete equipment repairs.
* Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
* Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
* Performs inspections of security, close circuit television, Access Control and fire alarm systems based on NFBA, Local codes and contract requirements.
* Assists service technicians with system repairs and completes minor repairs including battery replacement.
* Tests operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service connectivity.
* Complete all forms accurately such as the NFPA 72, TycoIS and customer paperwork as required.
* Manage and schedule daily, weekly and monthly contracted inspections as assigned to ensure monthly inspections are completed as scheduled for the calendar month
