location: Columbus, Ga dispatch office (work from office full-time 5 days a week)
The role of a Dispatcher is to ensure responsibility for compiling orders, scheduling deliveries and drivers, and providing customer service.
Pay is dependent upon experience and will be discussed during the consideration process.
Role & Responsibilities
Dispatch and control the Drivers needed throughout the day and make any necessary adjustments to maintain daily volume requirements
Have a professional and respectful voice over the phone/radio, with the ability to deescalate tense situations
Able to remain calm and decisive in a potentially high stress/fast-paced work environment
Solve problems in a timely manner while fostering lasting business relationships with our customers/drivers
Must be familiar with our delivery areas and must be able to assist drivers in finding job sites
Must be able to determine travel time to jobs and best plant locations to service the job
Accurately and promptly input orders to customer specifications for delivery
Review and verify accurate delivery and product information on orders prior to delivery
Must be able to perform in high call volume situations while multitasking with plants, drivers, team members in the office
Coordinate Driver timekeeping functions, including receiving and documenting time off requests. As well as, maintaining Driver time off schedule in respect to sick time and personal days
Daily review of Driver timecards, delivery time reports and time entry/ tracking
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years customer service experience preferred
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Prior dispatch experience, tracking and scheduling is preferred
Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English) will be highly looked upon
Computer Skills: typing skills, internet navigation

The Northwest Regional Emergency Communications Center (NRECC) is the primary public safety dispatch center for the City of Dublin, City of Hilliard, City of Upper Arlington (police and fire), City of Worthington (police and fire), Washington Township, and Norwich Township. Located inside the Dublin Justice Center, NRECC was formed in October 2013 when Dublin began providing dispatching services for Norwich Township Fire and became the primary 9-1-1 answering point for all of Hilliard. Dispatching for Hilliard Police started in January of 2014. Upper Arlington fire joined in October 2017 and Upper Arlington Police in January 2018. Worthington police and fire joined in 2020.
The nature of this work requires that candidates work irregular hours which include nights, weekends, and holidays. Assignment of shifts is based upon seniority.
First Shift: 6:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Second Shift: 2:45 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.
Third Shift: 10:45 p.m. to 6:45 a.m.

Examples of Duties
Operate a multi-channel radio system to dispatch requests for assistance and resources for law enforcement, fire, medical, and other emergency requests. Coordinate backup support when needed.
Operate a multi-line phone system to process incoming 9-1-1, text-to-9-1-1, TDD (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf), and non-emergency calls, record, and dispatch the appropriate resources to the emergency or concern.

Responsibilities
Public Safety Dispatchers must determine the nature and location of calls requesting public safety, fire, medical, or other emergency and non-emergency services, then use computer aided dispatch software (CAD) to dispatch, track and monitor appropriate response for service. Public Safety Dispatchers must have extensive knowledge of public safety operations at each campus served by UC Health Department of Public Safety (DPS), including physical locations, DPS policies and procedures, and facility operations.
Dispatchers must exercise reasonable independent judgment to determine priorities for service response in accordance with established procedures and protocols; coordinate on site activities of safety forces to ensure efficient and effective support services; and notifies and coordinates response with outside agencies as needed, ex: police and fire units, Disaster Management personnel, hospital management and other first responders. Enters, updates, and retrieves information for a variety of different sources, including officers working in the field.
Must operate a variety of communications equipment including multiple channel radio consoles, telephone and computer systems. Monitors various alarm systems and closed circuit cameras at multiple UC Health facilities. Is responsible for monitoring access control systems and building maintenance programs, as well as relaying weather related problems to appropriate personnel.
May work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays to maintain 24-hour, seven day a week coverage of the dispatch function.
Qualifications

This position involves the basic functions of Emergency Dispatch, focusing on the immediate information needs of the police and fire departments during daily operations and emergencies. North Canton Dispatch is committed to providing 24-hour telephone service for public information and routine/emergency assistance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle incoming and transmitted communications.
Document field activities, inquire and enter information into databases, and monitor video surveillance.
Update the status and locations of field members.

Update callout information, handle vacation/house check information, and manage fire permits.
Enter all citations, written warnings, and arrests into the system.
Process paperwork for court, gather records for subpoenas, and ensure officers receive subpoenas.
Enter warrants, protection orders, stolen articles, missing persons, Amber Alerts, and immobilizations into the Law Enforcement Automated Data System (Leads).
Process and record expungements.
Send accident reports to the state and monthly domestic violence reports through OHLEAD.
Prepare and take payments for City Wide Load Permits.
Handle financial transactions, including processing parking tickets, online payments, and preparing deposits for Finance.
Stock department forms and notify the Administrative Sergeant of re-ordering needs.
Scan and file paperwork, compile records retention schedules, and manage information for parking permissions.
Process record checks, reports for courts and the public, and log Canton Municipal Court dispositions.
Test Knox Key for the Fire Department, conduct monthly and statewide tornado tests, and perform city panic alarm and fire alarm tests.
Relay Bolos (Be On the Look Out) to officers via radio and CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch).
Coordinate with other departments for various needs, such as water emergencies, road maintenance, and deliveries.
Occasionally accept payments for utilities or fines after hours.
Respond to issues related to rentals and paging out WENS messages for street closings and emergencies.
Monitor traffic cameras, City Hall cameras/parks, and maintain the pager list for Fire Department paging of call location information.
Process and redact record requests and monitor phone systems to prevent disruptions.
Manage emergency dispatch scheduling.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in emergency dispatch or related field preferred.
