JENSEN HUGHES has a new job opportunity for a full-time Fire Investigator based in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the US. The position could also possibly be based in another location for an experienced investigator. The Investigator joins a multi-discipline team of nationwide Forensics experts.
**Responsibilities**
Responsibilities:
+ Conduct origin & cause investigations using accepted industry standards including, but not limited to appropriate digital and film photography, video, diagrams, and written/recorded statements
+ Document, collect (tags and bags), secure, and transport evidence; ensuring chain of custody procedures are followed
+ Able to apply failure analysis knowledge
+ Provide honest and unbiased analysis and consultation on various fires and explosions
+ Perform field studies and research on a daily basis
+ Must travel to perform investigations
+ Interface closely with clients and able to professionally handle sensitive and confidential information
+ Communicates with customers to provide timelines and project updates on a consistent basis
+ Provides expert testimony for court cases
+ Must have superior customer service skills

**Qualifications**
Qualifications:
+ Private Investigator license or the ability to acquire within 30 days of hire

Job Description
J.S. Held is seeking highly motivated and experienced Fire Investigators for our Fire Origin & Cause Practice Group with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service and superior work product to clients. You will be responsible for the inspection, support, and delivery of multiple projects across various disciplines within the insurance and legal industry. J.S. Held is focused on learning and development and is continually looking to attract and retain top talent who are creative, self-motivated, and organized. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years field experience in Fire & Explosion Investigations and be an IAAI-Certified Fire Investigator. A NAFI Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator certification will be considered if all requirements are met to test for IAAI-CFI and the candidate is able to obtain the certification within 6 months of employment.
Job Responsibilities
- Interface with clients and project representatives
- Perform field inspections and necessary site visits
- Serve as liaison between clients, subrogation attorneys, various contractors, vendors, etc.
- Travel is required as necessary
- Receive assignments from customers for investigation of losses or claims and pursues investigation to determine the origin and cause of the fire and/or explosion event
