What Does A Fire Technician Do At Siemens

* Participates in the performance of System Preparation & Design Coordination: works with engineering group to create and/or verify point database; participates in the review/modification of job specific programming via computer for various systems (controls, electronic security systems (ESS), fire systems, mass notification); and in the review/modification and upload of point database, review/modification of semi-complex graphics in the Central Processing Unit (CPU).
* Network Technologies: participates in the verification of point database and programming are consistent with scope of work for integration and sequence; backs up data from data servers and/or creates automated backup procedure; troubleshoots and resolves routine inconsistencies in the functions or sequence of operations; contacts Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for technical support as/when needed; resolves basic issues; refers complex matters to supervisor as needed.

What Does A Fire Technician Do At Stanford University

* include, but are not limited to, and under the direction of the Fire Systems Supervisor the incumbent will:
* Inspect, test and maintain fire sprinkler systems in accordance with California Code of Regulations, Title 19, and NFPA 13 & 25.
* Create electronic inspection, testing and maintenance records for quarterly, annual and 5-year inspections.
* Install, repair, and replace fire sprinkler devices including but not limited to post-indicator valves, outside stem and yoke valves, water flow switches, tamper switches, sprinkler heads, and stock boxes.
* Perform fire pump testing and make repairs as needed.
* Perform sprinkler system drain downs for minor repairs or construction projects.
* Coordinate testing schedule with building managers, supervisors and lead technician.
