Keeps assigned supply areas on nursing units clean and orderly. Checks products for expiration dates in Storeroom, Par and Palmtop areas on a monthly basis as well as regular rotation of stock. Acts as the patient's direct point of contact for all insurance and billing concerns. Tracks problem encounters and works closely with coding, patient accounting on denials and medical necessity issues to assist in resolution and process improvement. Assists with coordinating transportation and completed mileage forms for patients as needed. Assesses and completed advanced care planning for cancer patients. Meets with cancer patients who are experiencing psychosocial distress as indicated by RN assessment or completion of a distress screening. Provides emotional support to patients and assists with outgoing referrals as needed. Monitors and reports outcome measurements. Tracks grants and alternative funding. Assists with chemotherapy and radiation authorizations as needed for coverage in other areas of the infusion center and cancer center. Conducts ongoing outreach to health disparity communities. What You Will Need: Must complete the Association of Community Cancer Center Financial Bootcamp within one year of hire and the Advanced Care Planning Course for cancer center navigators. Experience with pre-authorization and working with insurance companies preferred. Knowledge of Medicare/CMS terminology and coverage is beneficial. Must have the skills to verify commercial insurance/Medicare and the ability to obtain benefits to determine eligibility. GENERAL SUMMARY AND SCOPE Responsible for the safety and security of all people and property in and around the facilities. The Security Officer will make periodic checks of the properties to insure the safety and security of all persons and properties. The Security Officer is always aware of his/her surroundings, watching for any type of illegal occurrences, fire or other hazardous conditions. Responds to emergency situations to assist parties in need. ESSENTIAL TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Protects and serves the patients, staff and visitors of FRMC. Monitors medical center buildings and grounds to maintain a safe and secure environment and takes appropriate action to resolve problems. Investigates incidents, accidents, or complaints on medical center property. Completes the necessary reports accurately and in a timely manner. Coordinates with local police and fire departments. Conducts general safety inspections of building & grounds and visual inspections of Life Safety equipment. Provides physical intervention when needed to subdue or restrain persons to protect individuals from harm. Responds to Code Violet calls. Operates detecting devices and performs searches to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas. Assures that all temperature logs are complete throughout the kitchen, this includes: Dish-machine log completed for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day Patient food temperature log for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day Refrigerator logs for opening and closing shifts Hot food logs for the cafeteria. Corrective action to address non-compliant temperatures are addressed and corrected. Dish-machine repair contacts are made to address malfunctioning equipment and follow-up with the Director/Executive Chef to assure repair is made. Inspects patient's trays for attractiveness, palatability, and temperature. Checks trays for accuracy and places into food cart. Observes methods of food preparation, cooking, and sizes and portions to ensure food is prepared in the prescribed manner. Inspects work, storage, and serving areas to ensure that safety and sanitation procedures are followed. Locks refrigerator and doors leading to department at the end of the day; inspects each work station at the end of each shift to ensure that all stations are in satisfactory condition for the next day. Provides training and assists with orientation of new employees; counsels employees when appropriate and uses suitable coaching or disciplinary action to address employee issues. Supervises cafeteria employees to ensure that the standards of service are maintained. What you will do: Greets patients and correctly, enters physician orders into the laboratory computer system obtaining any necessary information from the outpatients. Performs patient registration duties as required. Performs proper patient identification during all specimen collections. Answers phones, completes requests, and relays messages. Maintains current knowledge of all computer applications necessary to carry out job duties. Provides clear and complete communication and documentation to co-workers, patients, and clients using all tools available. Regularly demonstrates the ability to serve patients of all ages in the routine performance of duties. What you will need: High school graduate or equivalent. Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certificate preferred. Previous phlebotomy experience preferred. Must be currently certified in CPR/BLS (and recertified bi-annually). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive impression of the Medical Center at all times. Ability to handle sensitive telephone and face-to-face inquiries. Computer skills required. Ability to be mobile. Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy. Position Summary: Under the supervision of the assigned Program Coordinator, provides the full range of behavioral health treatment, including diagnostic assessment; individual, family and group therapy; and crisis intervention. The scope and volume of services provided will vary as related to specific job role. Responsible for complying with all requirements of the continuous quality improvement program. Diagnoses and treats behavioral health disorders within scope of practice. Renders all services within department guidelines and in compliance with rules/standards set forth by Medicaid/Medicare, Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), OhioMHAS, and CARF. What You Will Do: Demonstrates a commitment to the provision of quality care through engagement in professional growth and agency-sponsored learning opportunities; utilizes best practices as appropriate to the conditions being treated; and provides all services in a manner that instills hope and meets patients where they are at in terms of their readiness for change. Uses best practices for patient engagement and retention throughout the episode of care. Performs tasks that provide for patients' safety including ongoing screening and documentation of risk factors; develops safety plans and crisis management plans when indicated; and coordinates with afterhours services as needed to promote patient care. Understands the role of accurate and timely clinical documentation in relation to quality care and patient safety. Promotes patient recovery through active and collaborative patient involvement in initial and ongoing treatment planning. Fosters recovery and independence by identifying and incorporating patients' strengths and abilities into the treatment process. Involves natural support persons, self-help resources, and other community integration activities as critical components to long-term recovery. Decreases length and frequency of sessions as patients prepare for discharge. Understands the role of Patient Care Standards (PCS) as a measure of our commitment to serving those in need and ensuring that access to care is provided. Ensures PCS standards are met and actively utilizes and responds to strategies provided through supervision when there are challenges in meeting these standards. What You Will Need: Applicants must meet one of the three levels of criteria below. Therapists rendering mental health services are required to have a Bachelor's or Master's degree and hold an active, independent license through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board (CSWMFT Board) - LPCC or LISW or LPC or LSW with a minimum of two years, full -time equivalent experience in the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral health conditions, under supervision. Counselors rendering chemical dependency services are required to have a Master's Degree and an active, independent license through the Ohio Credentialing Board - LICDC to qualify for this wage scale. Therapists are required to maintain professional licenses through compliance with rules set forth by the licensing Boards including, but not limited to, completion of CEs necessary to maintain licensure and completion of license renewal applications. Heart Saver, Aegis Crisis Prevention, and First Aid certification within 6 months of hire. Successful completion of a 180-day probationary period.
