Special Assistant to the CEO
Stainless 3.8
Remote or New York, NY job
Stainless is a fast-growing tech startup building the future of APIs. Our customers include industry leaders like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cloudflare.
We have raised over $35 million from a16z, Sequoia, and founders/C-levels from Stripe, Datadog, Segment, Linear, and more.
We are headquartered in NYC, just west of SoHo, and are a team of 40 strong expecting to double in the next ~6 to 9 months.
You'll work directly with our CEO, Alex, capturing insights from meetings and conversations and turning them into documented decisions, memos, strategic communications, and external narratives. You'll help define how the world sees Stainless-establishing our voice as we create new categories in developer tooling and SDK generation.
You'll sit in on meetings across product, engineering, strategy, and operations, then synthesize what you hear into clear documentation for internal stakeholders and potentially compelling narratives for external audiences. This role reports to the CEO and is onsite at our office in Manhattan.
What you'll do
Attend meetings with Alex and capture key decisions, insights, and action items in real-time.
Serve as a “ghost writer.” Draft messages, documentation for our operating manual, and internal communications based on Alex's verbal processing.
Synthesize complex technical and business discussions into clear, actionable documents.
Route information to the right stakeholders and ensure loops get closed on important initiatives.
Learn deeply about API specifications, SDK generation, developer tooling, and how technical companies scale.
Contribute strategically as you gain context on the business.

Who you are
You're 0-3 years out of school with a CS degree or minor (or equivalent technical background).
You're an outstanding writer who can distill complex ideas quickly and clearly.
You understand basic technical concepts-you know the difference between Vercel and Shopify, can follow technical conversations, and are eager to learn more.
You're exceptionally sharp: high IQ, high EQ, and high slope-you learn fast and take initiative.
You want to start a company someday and are seeking an accelerated learning opportunity.
You thrive in ambiguity, context-switch rapidly, and can turn verbal brain dumps into structured documentation and strategy.
You've started something before: a business, a club, a project, a student org; anything that shows you're a builder at heart.

Recruiter
Stainless 3.8
Remote or New York, NY job
Stainless is a fast-growing tech startup building the future of APIs. Our customers include industry leaders like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cloudflare.
We have raised over $35 million from a16z, Sequoia, and founders/C-levels from Stripe, Datadog, Segment, Linear, and more.
We are headquartered in NYC, just west of SoHo, and are a team of 40 strong expecting to double in the next ~6 to 9 months.
About the Role
We're building something special at Stainless and we need a Recruiter who gets excited about the early-stage chaos of scaling a team from the ground up. You'll be a core part of our small but mighty talent team, partnering directly with leadership to shape how we find, attract, and bring on exceptional people.
This isn't a "pipeline is full, just screen and schedule" kind of job - we're still figuring things out. You'll help us evolve our hiring motion and share learnings that shape our approach to building the team.
What You'll Do
Own full-cycle recruiting across engineering, go-to-market, and/or operations roles, from sourcing to offer acceptance.
Help candidates understand Stainless by clearly articulating our mission, product, and culture, and being a trusted guide through a thoughtful interview process.
Identify and execute opportunities to improve our recruiting strategy, employer brand, interview process, and candidate experience. And be a strong partner to hiring managers to put ideas into action.
Maintain a healthy pipeline, track metrics accurately, and help us keep a sharp eye on what's working and what's not in our hiring process.
Provide tight feedback to leadership on what candidates are looking for, where we're losing people, and what's resonating in our pitch.
Who you are
You have 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally with some time spent at a high-growth startup.
You've recruited exceptional technical, go-to-market, and/or ops talent and are just as comfortable evaluating engineers as you are account executives.
You've helped candidates understand and get excited about early-stage opportunities, and confidently positioned startup equity and growth potential against bigger, more established companies.
You've started something before: a process, a team initiative, a side project; anything that shows you're a builder at heart.
You take feedback well, act on it quickly, and want to be part of building something from the ground up. We are a high confidence, low ego team.
You've got strong communication skills: clear writing, warm presence on calls, and an ability to sell complex opportunities simply.
You're comfortable with shifting priorities and can balance multiple urgent roles without losing sight of quality.
Benefits
We offer competitive salary and generous equity grants.
Great healthcare coverage options (e.g., fully covered platinum plans).
Paid commuter benefits & similar.
Paid team lunch/meals during workdays.
Flexible PTO plus 3 weeks of company-wide vacation a year (2 weeks in December, 1 week at the end of the summer).

Account Executive
Stainless 3.8
Remote or New York, NY job
Stainless is a fast-growing tech startup building the future of APIs. Our customers include industry leaders like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cloudflare.
We have raised over $35 million from a16z, Sequoia, and founders/C-levels from Stripe, Datadog, Segment, Linear, and more.
We are headquartered in NYC, just west of SoHo, and are a team of 40 strong expecting to double in the next ~6 to 9 months.
Role
We're looking for an Account Executive to join the early sales team at Stainless. You'll be our third AE and will work closely with our CEO, Head of Ops, and Sales Lead to help build the sales engine from the ground-up, one deal, one experiment, and one tight feedback loop at a time.
This isn't a “playbook is written, just run it” kind of job. We're still figuring things out. You'll talk directly to customers, sell to engineers, help us evolve our sales motion, and share learnings that shape the product.
You should be excited to close deals, and also to build the process that makes future deals easier.
What You'll Do
Own full-cycle sales, from outreach to close, with support from a strong stream of inbound leads.
Help prospects adopt Stainless by guiding them through trial setups, integrating their first OpenAPI spec, and making their first calls to our API.
Forecast accurately, maintain clean pipeline hygiene, and help us keep a sharp eye on what's working and what's not.
Provide tight feedback to engineering leadership on what users are bumping into, what's missing, and what's resonating.
Identify and execute opportunities to improve our GTM processes, strategy, messaging, and operations. And be a strong partner to these teams to put ideas into action.
Who you are
You've sold to engineers and are comfortable getting into the weeds of a technical product. Bonus if you've worked in devtools or API-first companies.
You've helped technical buyers understand and articulate the business impact of their choices and confidently position the value of a premium priced product in a competitive, fast-evolving space.
You have 1.5-3 years of closing experience.
You've started something before: a business, a club, a nonprofit, a student org; anything that shows you're a builder at heart.
You're naturally curious and intrinsically motivated. You like figuring things out, and you like helping others do the same. You learn fast and move fast.
You take feedback well, act on it quickly, and want to be part of building something from the ground up. We are a high confidence, low ego team.
You've got strong communication skills: clear writing, calm presence on calls, and an ability to explain complex things simply.
You have experience selling $30k-$300k+ ACV deals.
Nice to Have
Comfortable working deals at volume, even better if you've already run your own outbound cadences.
STEM degree or technical background (not required, but it helps).
