Our bank was originally founded in 1901 in the Central Texas town of Killeen, only 19 years after the city was established.
So much has changed since 1901, but our commitment to putting our customers first has not.
Building on the corner of 3rd and Bolivar Streets.In 1899 Mr. It was chartered as First National Bank of Sanger in 1905.
Since 1966, our mission is to provide quality, low priced and convenient banking services to our Soldiers and their loved ones.
And then, in 1973, the shareholders formed First Abilene Bankshares, Inc. as a multibank holding company.
After successfully serving the area for over ninety-four years, the bank leadership and ownership changed in 1995 under the direction of current CEO and Chairman of the Board Monte Hulse.
In 2002, another bank was acquired in Hillsboro to serve our good neighbors to the north.
In 2005, First National Bank of Abilene changed its name to First Financial Bank and added new locations in Clyde and Moran.
The 2007 edition of Rescuing Texas History brings together photographs, postcards, letters, and more to give a glimpse into the rich history of the state.
In 2012, the Banks in Abilene, Baird, Munday, Haskell, Stamford, and Mid-Cities were merged to do business as First Bank Texas.
Grapevine opened in 2016 to broaden our demographics to an area that was growing quickly within the Metroplex.
