DUTIES Under directive supervision the NG GIS Technologist I supports the operation and maintenance of the company GIS application for the Natural Gas Business Unit by maintaining, reporting, and posting work or by gathering data to be input by others. NG GIS Technologist I is the first level of the classification series, and incumbents at this level are expected to work independently, or as part of a team, under close-to-moderate supervision, and to develop to advance their skills; performs such duties as: Applies technical expertise in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise. Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective time and work management. Beginning level of knowledge in understanding and interpreting complex design drawings, property plats, maps, and other related information as necessary to post data in the Company GIS system. Generates and maintains GIS-generated operations maps. Performs Quality Control of team members standard work. Assist with internal and external training. Assist with creation of job aids. Conducts GIS and related studies. Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance. Performs work of a higher classification when preparing for advancement. Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files. Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally. Performing other similar or less skilled work as assigned. B. QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet the Company's requirements as to GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS; and, in addition: Associate Degree in GIS (or related field) OR Bachelor's Degree in GIS (or related field) OR at least 4 years GIS working experience without a degree. Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills. Understanding of Quality Control / Quality Assurance processes. Must be willing to be subject to D.O.T. drug testing. Place, receive, and screen calls and receive outside guests in a professional manner. Assist in the processing and submittal of Purchase Requisitions. Assist staff in developing and finalizing up to advanced level presentations and posters for internal and/or external use. Lead as needed with staff meetings, team building events, various trainings, seminars and events which includes organizing and coordinating logistics, room set up, food ordering, taking minutes/notes and AV support. Serve as a liaison between cross functional teams, project directors, project team members, accounting, other administrative staff, clients, subcontractors, and consultants. Organize, replenish, and maintain office and shipping supplies. Provide support to associate requests as needed. Maintain filing systems (Electronic and hard files). Provide data entry support and maintain databases as needed. Process and submit expense reports and invoices. Assist with special projects as needed. All other duties as assigned. Reporting Relationships: This position will not have direct reports. Travel: No travel is required.
