Primary Responsibilities

Train and manage internal auditors and oversee audit schedules and corrective action closure.
Leadership and Team Development
Train, mentor, and grow QA team members through structured coaching, skill-building activities, and performance feedback.
Create development plans, assess competency gaps, and build succession strength across shifts.
Foster a reliable, collaborative, and accountable culture by modeling clear communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
Partner with Operations, Sanitation, Engineering, R&D, and Procurement to proactively integrate quality into every stage of production.
Support product and process changes, new product introductions, trial runs, and change control review.
Lead root-cause investigations, implement corrective and preventive actions, and champion continuous improvement projects.
Risk Management, Documentation, and Reporting
Conduct and maintain risk assessments for allergens, foreign materials, and environmental controls.
Oversee training compliance and documentation accuracy across systems such as QMS, ERP, and LIMS.
Publish regular quality performance reports with data‑driven insights and proposed actions.
Qualifications
Required
Minimum of 5-8 years of QA experience in food manufacturing with responsibility for plant-level food safety systems.
Demonstrated experience hosting or leading USDA/FSIS audits.
Proven success in people leadership, coaching, and development.
HACCP certification and PCQI credential.
Knowledge of GFSI schemes (SQF/BRCGS), FSMA, 9 CFR, GMPs, sanitation standards, CAPA, statistical process control, and environmental monitoring.
Proficiency with documentation systems, quality analytics, and standard office software.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Animal Science, or a related field.
Lead Auditor certification or similar qualifications.
Experience in high-care, high‑risk, or ready‑to‑eat environments.
Familiarity with unionized production facilities.
Performance Measures
USDA and third‑party audit outcomes, including nonconformances and audit readiness.
Quality KPIs such as complaint rates, rework, micro/EMP trends, and first-pass quality.

This role will be working in a manufacturing facility and reporting to the plant Safety Manager. This position will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of new safety projects and programs and ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.

A Day in the Life:
Starting each morning with a walk through the plant to ensure that all employees have the tools and resources to have a safe and productive day.
Working alongside the production team to ensure that all safety guidelines are met by auditing and doing departmental checks throughout the day.
Leading safety training and retraining to ensure each employee is empowered with the understanding of their role in the safety at the plant.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Report to the plant Safety Manager and perform tasks as directed with the highest level of transparency
Assist in development and implementation of new safety projects and programs
Develop and maintain all training programs and safeguards for new equipment/process
Research and procure items needed for plant safety improvements
Organize and maintain all new hire safety training and compliance acknowledgments
Conduct and maintain all annual training, including forklift driving certifications, first-aid certifications, LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) certifications, etc)
Understand and reference all applicable OSHA regulations
Ensure plant is OSHA compliant
Familiarity with all other AHJ (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) is imperative to maintain applicable compliance (NFPA, ANSI, NEC, NIOSH, etc.)
Enforce compliance of PPE and all other safe work practices to promote a positive and lasting Safety Culture
Keep plant stocked with proper safety supplies and PPE
Perform monthly plant safety audits and maintain all regulated frequent inspections
Verify routine equipment inspections are properly conducted and compliance is maintained in all areas of the plant by all employees
Ensure all safeguards are in place and working properly
Ensure all workstations and tasks are free of hazards
Conduct and report all incident investigations and determine root cause and corrective plans
First Aid response and treatment for employee injuries including transporting injured workers to seek medical treatment when needed
Guide employees through the workers compensation process alongside plant HR, maintaining records and facilitating all restrictions
Accurate and concise record keeping of all safety related documents and processes including but not limited to training records, SOPS, SDS, and OSHA abatement documents.
Job Requirements:
0-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on quality
4-year technical degree mechanical or mechanical engineering technology, Fire Protection Safety Engineering technology, Environmental health and safety sciences etc.
Self-starter and with solid communication
Manufacturing experience preferred
Focus on process improvement and lean related principles (Kaizen, 5/6 S, 6 Sigma, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work standing for extended periods of time
Required to use ladder, forklift or other means to acquire parts for product assembly
Able to use power & hand tools, as well as electrical testing and measuring equipment
Ability to lift 35 to 50 pounds independently

Coach team members on the correct use of safety tools, including QR-based digital reporting forms for incidents, observations, and CSI input.
Assist in preparing and delivering weekly safety communications with clarity and consistency.
Partner with local leaders to identify execution gaps and implement practical, high-impact solutions.
Facilitate root cause discussions following incidents or non-conformances, and support action tracking through to closure.
Monitor safety KPIs, Risk Register, and reporting compliance to ensure accurate inputs for dashboards and monthly EOS-Meta Safety Committee reviews.
Maintain alignment with EOS safety standards, site SOPs, and client-specific protocols while reinforcing a culture of safety ownership.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Minimum 2 years of Health & Safety experience in logistics, data centres, or critical infrastructure environments.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence and coach without direct authority.
Experience with digital safety tools, real-time reporting platforms, and basic audit procedures.
Solid understanding of workplace safety principles, including hazard identification, PPE compliance, and behavioural safety.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
Comfortable working across multiple sites with shifting priorities.
Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement frameworks.
PEC Safety / SafeLandUSA / SafeGulf, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OHSA30 or similar safety qualifications (or actively working toward them).
