$13.00 to $17.00 per hour
We offer an easily achievable commission structure that pays you for every transaction you process!
Our retail sales associates can earn UP TO 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $1.34 per hour ON TOP OF YOUR HOURLY RATE.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an AssistantStoreManager with a minimum of six (6+) months of management/3rd key experience. AssistantStoreManagers are accountable for the day-to-day operations of the store and promoting a positive/productive environment. This position will partner with the StoreManager to lead and develop store employees, recruit, and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction. This position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment!
Alongside the StoreManager, this position analyzes store financial statements to ensure financial goals are met. You will be required to commit to the company's asset protection program, promote our business, and target new customer acquisitions. All employees work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (*in FFL locations) and much more.
This position offers an hourly wage, PLUS AssistantStoreManagers earn commission based on productivity and a bonus based on store performance! The actual pay of successful AssistantStoreManagers will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.
Responsibilities of an AssistantStoreManager are:

* Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and rapidly addressing customer issues.
* Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers so their development meets the prescribed FirstCash standards.
* Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company-prescribed channels.
* Opens and closes the store, including, but not limited to, counting cash drawers and merchandise, and ensuring all procedures are followed to ensure the protection of assets.
* Ensures asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
* Administer processes and procedures within the store, which include inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and enterprise-level reporting.
* Evaluate the store's financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
* Ensure that operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards.
* Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
* Complete the assigned tasks and training for self-development as requested.
* Communicate clearly with employees to ensure that they understand the store's mission and profit objectives.
* Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
* The AssistantStoreManager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the StoreManager.
* Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
* Must be willing and able to perform duties and tasks for extended periods of time (in accordance with federal, state, and local law), some of which include, but are not limited to, standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
* Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
* Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
* Employees may be asked to assist a customer on the exterior of the building (within our parking lots) or to retrieve products stored in exterior storage buildings or other areas.
* Minimum Age: 18 years old
* High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
* Should be able to work in multiple locations, as business needs dictate.
* Must have the ability to work a flexible retail schedule based on business needs, including weekends and holidays.
* AssistantStoreManagers will work 40+ hours a week. Hours worked are based on the needs of the business and are not guaranteed.
* Computer literate and able to operate Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.
* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
* Analytical skills
* Cash handling experience is required.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.

Commission Plan Information
The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to FirstCash. AssistantStoreManagers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Applicants are provided more details regarding the commission incentive plan during the interview process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirements
EXPERIENCE:
3+ years as a Branch Manager with Business Development is essential.
Experience on outbound calling/prospecting and visiting local businesses.
Experience understanding business and commercial products. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Extensive financial industry experience, including but not limited to cash handling, customer service, needs based selling, goal attainment, employee leadership and development, project and team participation and community development.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor's degree and/or a comparable combination of education and experience. Notary License required or within 6 months of hire.

What You'll Do:
Lead and oversee all aspects of global payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across all regions (including US, EMEA, APAC, and EOR arrangements).
Define and execute the global payroll strategy, vendor selection, and partnership model to align with business objectives, scalability, and an exceptional employee experience.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Finance, People Operations (HRIS/Benefits/Compensation), and Legal to streamline end-to-end payroll processes and data integration.
Own the month-end close activities for payroll, including the review and approval of payroll-related journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis for all regions.
Drive strategic initiatives such as new payroll system implementations/upgrades, vendor consolidation, and expansion into new countries/entities.
Qualifications
Minimum 8+ years of progressive, hands‑on experience in payroll administration, with at least 3+ years managing global/multi‑country payroll operations.
Proven experience in a public company or pre‑IPO environment with exposure to SOX controls.
Deep expertise in US multi‑state payroll, tax regulations, and labor laws, coupled with a strong understanding of international payroll practices (EMEA and APAC).
Demonstrated experience managing payroll for a large, high‑growth organization (e.g., +1,000 global employees).
Strong knowledge of upstream payroll inputs (compensation, benefits, stock administration) and integrations with enterprise systems.

Initial Program Responsibilities:
1. Business Resource Center
Oversee the development and daily operations of a centralized hub for business support services
Curate and maintain resources including guides, toolkits, and referral networks
Ensure accessibility and relevance for businesses of all sizes and sectors
Coordinate with local service providers to offer workshops, consultations, and technical assistance
2. Entrepreneurial Support
Design and manage programs that support startups and small businesses, like 1 Million Cups.
Provide technical assistance, mentorship, and access to capital resources
Partner with local incubators, accelerators, conferences like EntreFest, and universities
Track outcomes and adjust programming to meet evolving needs
3. Coworking and Entrepreneurial Space ManagementManage Co-Working and 808 member communications and community building activities and delegate to the office manager, where appropriate, for facilities requests and rentals, invoicing, and maintenance issues.
Other Responsibilities:
Business Support Innovation Council: Take lead in agenda and content development to support this quarterly meeting of industry leaders. This effort corresponds with a newsletter and engagement with Council members that helps inform all stakeholders of the efforts of business support and workforce programs. Conversations within this council may lead to emerging programs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, economics, public administration, urban planning, public policy, business administration, or related field.
Experience and progressive opportunities in educational roles in community development, business support, workforce or a related field, with a proven track record of program management and stakeholder engagement.
Strong understanding of business support principles, community development strategies, and social impact measurement.
Experience in data analysis and other community and business support data tools.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences through written reports, presentations, and public speaking engagements.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, businesses, and residents.

POSITION DETAILS
This is an exempt, full-time, benefits eligible position. Work is performed in-person at the Greater Iowa City, Inc. office at the MERGE co-working location in downtown Iowa City, 136 S Dubuque St. Work hours are primarily 8:30-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday, but may require occasional early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours to accommodate meetings/events. Johnson County residence is required for emergency and facility access. A valid driver's license and access to transportation is required.
