Key Accountabilities
Gain firsthand experience in how water utilities support communities and ensure sustainability.
Collaborate with professionals to assist with environmental management and water quality activities for assigned facilities, ensuring compliance with all water quality and environmental regulations.

Role Description:
The Summer Intern, Communications will support the communications team with various tasks, including content creation, media relations, internal and external communications, and public relations initiatives. The intern will help ensure that messaging is consistent and supports DC Water's goals.

Role Description:
The Summer Intern, Document Management will support the management and organization of records by reviewing documents, updating metadata, conducting information and data analysis, and performing quality control tasks on both contemporary and historical documents. The role involves inventory management, scanning, file uploads, and metadata updates using SharePoint.

Role Description:
The Summer Intern, Clean Rivers will participate in a rotational internship experience supporting three functional areas: Critical Infrastructure Projects, Field & Data Management, and Capital Projects Planning & Construction. Through these rotations, the intern will support planning, permitting, field observations, contractor coordination, data management, and project documentation activities related to DC Water's capital and operational infrastructure projects. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to the full capital project lifecycle and contribute to reporting, tracking, and presentation materials while working alongside engineers, project managers, construction managers, and field crews.

Role Description:
The Summer Intern, Research will conduct research focused on drinking water quality. This position involves field sampling, laboratory analysis, and the application of data analysis methods to assess the chemistry of water samples, providing valuable insights into water quality management.

Your essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Conduct field sampling of drinking water from the distribution system.
Perform chemical analysis of water samples using handheld instrumentation.
Analyze collected data using statistical methods to draw meaningful conclusions about water quality.
Prepare reports on findings and share insights with the team.
Assist with ongoing research and documentation of water quality analysis.

Primary Role
Gain firsthand experience in how water utilities support communities and ensure sustainability. Collaborate with professionals to assist with environmental management and water quality activities for assigned facilities, ensuring compliance with all water quality and environmental regulations.
Key Accountabilities

The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. The expected pay range for this position is between $18.00 per hour and $28.00 per hour. Work assignments will typically focus on evaluating water and energy usage trends, source water quality, water and wastewater treatment plant performance, and pipeline and pump station capacities and condition.
Key Accountabilities
Typical duties are diverse and designed around the education and experience level of the student. Assignments may include:
Performing analyses utilizing software such as Microsoft Office, WaterCad / WaterGEMS hydraulic models, ESRI GIS, SAP asset management system software and various EPA resiliency programs
Assisting in the preparation and review of technical reports
Performing literature reviews and preparing presentation materials and map displays using Powerpoint and GIS.
Additional tasks may also include:
Developing SharePoint pages
Assisting in the review of engineering standards and templates
Developing materials for training programs and assisting in the team's management and delivery of the company's construction program.

Experience/Education
Enrollment in an Engineering undergraduate degree program, Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. The expected pay range for this position is between $18.00 per hour and $28.00 per hour. If you are hired at American Water your compensation will be determined based on factors such as market, geography, skills, candidate's program year, discipline, and degree. Role Description:
The Summer Intern, Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) will support the team in Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Process Improvement (BPI) initiatives. The intern will analyze existing workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to process enhancements within the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
As a summer Intern, we will provide you with:

Your essential functions include, but are not limited to:
* Develop an understanding of BPM and BPI methodologies and tools while improving professional communication skills.
* Conduct process mapping, identify inefficiencies, collaborate with stakeholders, and document workflows.
* Prepare detailed process maps, a report identifying inefficiencies, and a PowerPoint presentation outlining actionable recommendations.
