1952

Our parent company, Fisher Sand & Gravel Co., was founded in rural North Dakota in 1952 by Gene Fisher.

1967

In 1967, he established the affiliate company, General Steel & Supply Company, to repair, remodel, design, and fabricate quality aggregate processing equipment.

2009

Micheal Fisher, a former co-owner of Fisher and Tommy’s brother, was sentenced to prison in 2009 for tax fraud, according to the Justice Department.

2010

In 2010, Fisher won a $400 million contract to build a highway bridge outside Reno, the largest contract ever awarded by the Nevada Department of Transportation.

2011

In 2011, Fisher agreed to a Consent Judgement with ADEQ over numerous air quality violations the company had committed.

In 2011, Fisher Sand & Gravel agreed to pay $150,000 to settle a sexual discrimination and retaliation suit filed by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

2017

When the newly elected Trump administration began soliciting border wall design concepts in early 2017, Fisher was one of the companies picked to put up a prototype.

Fisher also hired the North Dakota lobbying firm Odney, whose top consultant ran Cramer’s Senate campaign, paying the company more than $100,000 since 2017, records show.

2018

A month after attending the 2018 State of the Union address with Cramer, Fisher and his wife, Candice each contributed the $5,400 maximum donation to Cramer’s campaign for the US Senate, Federal Election Commission records show.
