POSITION SCOPE

PRIMARY DUTIES
Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
Exercises good judgment regarding work site access, unloading, and operation to and from work sites
Performs routine inspections and maintenance on equipment, report defects and repairs to maintenance department
Conducts daily pre-trip inspection of truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, and oil
Comply with all DOT, state, and local traffic and highway laws, rules and regulations and safely operate all equipment
Operates other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

POSITION SCOPE
The Class A Heavy Haul Truck Driver will be responsible for transporting oversize and overweight equipment to the job sites. The drivers will be exposed to different situations and equipment in performing their assigned task and are responsible for maintaining their assigned equipment.

PRIMARY DUTIES
Operates, loads, and unloads oversized and/or overweight parts and equipment to be hauled
Assist with loading and unloading of oversized/overweight equipment and ensure that all loads are properly prepared, loaded, and secured before the vehicle proceeds to avoid shifting, loosening, or falling while enroute; perform a thorough pre- and post-check to inspect the load and truck before and after each stop
Ability to read and review permit for route, special considerations, and safety provisions
Prepare before and stow away after each trip the vehicle, trailer, and all auxiliary equipment such as chains, straps, blocks, and gears
Comply with all DOT, state, and local traffic and highway laws, rules and regulations and safely operate all equipment in compliance with all legal weight and load size limits
Take pictures of questionable machine damage and report immediately
Ensure all items transported are on the manifest are accurate and error free
Performs general maintenance, minor repairs, and regular service on mobile equipment and crushing and screening equipment daily as directed by supervisor
Mechanical and hydraulic trailer experience as well as skills to perform minor maintenance on equipment as required

REQUIREMENTS
21 years of age or older
Valid Class A CDL with Doubles/Triples, Hazmat, and Tanker endorsements or the ability to obtain endorsements is required
Have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in heavy haul
Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate is required
Basic knowledge and understanding of all oversized/overweight hauling rules and regulations on federal, state, county, and city jurisdictions is required
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test is required
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required
Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy is required
Need 9 axle trailer or bigger experience

A Brief Overview
The CDL Driver I is responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of materials to various job sites and other locations. This role requires maintaining a Class A or B Driver's license, inspecting and maintaining trucks, reporting shortages and claims to supervisors, and assisting in loading and storing of materials. Drivers must perform pre- and post-trip inspections, manage logs, and adhere to hours-of-service requirements.
Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00/hour

Operates Class A or B commercial vehicles in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
Responsible for deliveries to both active construction sites and completed build locations; city-based deliveries and inter-state travel may be required.
Performs thorough pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with federal regulations.
Provides exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional demeanor, addressing client needs, representing the company positively during all interactions, and relaying messages received from customers while on job sites.
Organizes and secures loads to ensure safe transport and verifies orders for accuracy before departure and upon delivery.
Adheres to all regulations and safety guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and complies with all regulations and conditions outlined in applicable permits.
Prepares and maintains accurate DOT-compliant logs of driving hours, on-duty time, and rest periods in accordance with federal regulations.
Delivers and unloads materials accurately and safely, ensuring customer satisfaction at the point of delivery.
Records all merchandise returned by truck and assists in unloading materials returned for credit, ensuring proper documentation and handling.
Safely and efficiently operates a truck-mounted forklift to load, unload, and transport materials at job sites.
Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the truck, ensuring it is well-kept and ready for operation.
Assist with stocking and organizing inventory in the warehouse and production areas.

Job Description
United Pipeline Systems, Inc. is seeking Commercial Drivers with a Class A CDL to join our installation crews. As a driver, you'll play an essential role in safely transporting materials and equipment to and from job sites while operating company CMV vehicles in full compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. This is a travel-based position requiring extended time away from home while working on pipeline installation projects across the U.S. Once on the job site, our drivers transition into installation technicians. Typical months will have 20% driving and 80% hands on work on the job sites.
